Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting to be an essential member of the accounting team. This is a senior level accountant who is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of SEC reporting (10-Q, 10-K and other SEC filings), supporting the annual financial statement audit, performing technical accounting research, and drafting accounting position papers. This role will report to the Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Timely and accurate preparation and filing of the various SEC reports including quarterly and annual financial statements (Form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.), which includes drafting the MD&A, reviewing iXBRL, and filing required documents with the SEC
  • Provide detailed financial statement account analysis (e.g., balance sheet fluctuation) by researching and analyzing accounts
  • Non-GAAP accounting review
  • Technical Accounting:
  • Maintain projects and stay abreast of proposed regulations to ensure the Company is in compliance by the required timeframe
  • Monitor, understand and assess the impact of emerging and newly released financial accounting standards and SEC pronouncements as well as current business and finance matters and assist in the implementation of such matters
  • Perform technical accounting research and draft memos to be reviewed by others, Director of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting, Chief Accounting Officer, and external auditors
  • Accountable for sensitive accruals, assumptions, valuations
  • Stock based compensation – includes administration of equity management system, expense reporting, budgeting, and other reporting
  • Other Items:
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations; provide supporting documentation during the close.
  • Collect and provide information to external auditors for quarterly and annual audit requests.
  • Ensure compliance with all company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and recommending changes when needed.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis, special project work, and other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required, CPA preferred
  • 4+ years relevant accounting experience, public accounting experience preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, GAAP regulations, professional journals, technical procedures, or other governmental regulations (SEC, IRS, SOX)
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Strong leadership, written, verbal, organization, analytical, motivational, customer service and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • A team player with the ability to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization to answer questions, resolve issues, and provide information and documentation
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential data
  • Self-Motivated and the ability to be flexible and work under time constraints, manage multiple priorities, maintaining a high attention to detail while continuing to meet demanding deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products: Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint
  • Experience in WDesk a plus
  • Remote arrangement acceptable

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,00k and is dependent on qualifications.
