Sr. Accountant (2202234) – Parma / Boise, ID or remote

Where the Chemistry Happens

Perform all areas of accounting (General Ledger, A/P, A/R, Credit) from activity split, while delivering accuracy and adhering to company policies, guidelines & procedures. Be a partner to the business, as well as backup the Local Head of Finance when applicable.

    Compile timely and accurate reporting of financial statements, comparing results to forecasts & budgets. Regularly collaborate with financial management leaders, as well as organizational management to accomplish company goals and objectives. Safeguard company assets by maintaining compliance and ensuring internal controls are followed. Provide supporting documents to internal or external customers on an ad hoc basis.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success


General Ledger Accounting

    Responsible for month-end closing activities, journal entries, proper accruals & accurate reporting. Ensures BASF & Nunhems ERP systems align monthly. Reconcile general ledger accounts & work papers.

Financial Statement Analysis

    Compare current year actuals to budget & prior year. Analyze variances & review results with management.

Accounts Payable

    Monitor AP email for incoming invoices. Sort invoices by PO vs. Non-PO. Reconcile supplier statements. Prepare payment proposals, check runs &/or electronic payments. Scan Non-PO invoices into work-flow software, verify accuracy & distribute for coding and approval. Coordinate and ensure proper approvals are received, then review & post AP invoices for our legal entity. Review invoices for sales & use taxes.

Accounts Receivable

    Collect & apply of A/R Contact customers for past due A/R Charge customer credit cards Ensure past due interest fees are charged

Credit Analyzing

    Process customer credit applications Implement customer credit holds or removal when applicable.

Fixed Assets & Product Costing

    Assist with reconciling & maintaining fixed assets to the GL, as well as for record purposes Assist with ensuring product costs are accurate & initiate adjustments when needed

Other Duties

    Continuous improvement process optimization Be able to collaborate, assist & back up the other accounting staff regularly

Ingredients for Success

Education

    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required Master’s Degree in Business or equivalent is a strong plus

Experience

    3-7+ years of accounting experience Proficiency working with organizational management Ability to work with a multi-functional and global team.
