Summary

The Brand Marketing team within the Marketing, Communications and Fundraising (MCF) Division is committed to building a brand that engages the public in a relevant, differentiating and meaningful way and inspires both financial and non-financial supporter action for and with Save the Children. We want to inspire relationships, not transactions – and our brand work extends beyond the mass public, across all of our key audiences, including corporate partners, Large Public Institutions, policymakers, and employees.

Working closely with and reporting to the Senior Managing Director, Brand Marketing, you will create integrated, omni-channel marketing plans that help to position Save the Children as a top of mind children’s charity for our target audiences and inspire people to choose Save the Children first. You will champion an audience-first approach leveraging insights to understand the supporter journey and how to create meaningful brand connections that drive measurable action. You will collaborate across several MCF teams to consult with subject matter experts and our content creation team to ensure that creative assets fulfill our communications and content strategy - continuously reviewing key performance metrics and optimizing to ensure strategies are delivering.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Integrated Campaign Strategy, Implementation and Marketing Innovation (55%)

  • Support the US focused three year integrated brand strategy to develop brand campaigns that drive familiarity and favorability for Save the Children.
  • Understand and embrace a data-driven approach to creating engagement strategies that move people from awareness to action.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external creative partners to brief and develop messaging and assets that tell a compelling brand story and promote desired behaviors.
  • Research and identify new marketing partners, platforms and channels that align with our integrated brand strategy and to reach and prospect new supporters.
  • Ensure that brand campaigns have clear and measurable objectives and KPIs that support overall agency goals and are integrated with other activations across the MCF Division.
  • Work with brand colleagues responsible for Corporate Partner engagement to create turnkey and bespoke activation opportunities that are mutually beneficial to Save the Children and its partners.
  • Work closely with the Senior Managing Director, Brand Marketing to engage and align with adjacent teams including Save the Children Action Network (SCAN), Public Policy & Advocacy (PPA), Resource Development (RD) and US Programs.

Brand Marketing Team Leadership and Cross Team Collaboration (30%)

  • Work cross functionally to inspire, organize and operationalize a commitment to excellence in the way we deliver our brand experience and achieve awareness and engagement goals.
  • Train, develop, coach, lead, and supervise staff, clearly communicating organization, division and department priorities, and how their work contributes to our mission, ensuring that the working environment continually fosters diversity, inclusion, and belonging – supporting Save the Children values.
  • Work closely with the MCF brand marketing team to deliver on our department, division and agency three year strategic vision.
  • Develop integrated ways of working across MCF, SCAN, PPA and RD to ensure a robust brand experience.

Budget, Measurement and Tracking (15%)

  • Oversee integrated campaign/brand marketing budget to ensure we are on track to meet yearly spending goals.
  • Responsible for reporting out actionable insights across integrated campaigns and key moments to measure awareness, identify trends and capitalize on what’s working.
  • Work with Senior Managing Director to support agency dashboard metrics on awareness and engagement and specific measurement of priority issues identified in our strategy and annual brand tracking study.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 7 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing, brand strategy and/or integrated campaign management
  • Demonstrated experience developing full funnel marketing strategies with a focus on driving top funnel metrics
  • Professional level of technical or managerial knowledge, skills, and experience to manage the operational activities of a unit or team, or provide the technical and management support related to various size programs, grants or projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, handle numerous projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently to solve problems and make decisions
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

  • Demonstrated experience leading a team and building relationships

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $108,800 – $121,600 base salary

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location. Save the Children also offers paid vacation, accrued at least 12 days a year, depending on paygrade and length of service, paid safety and wellness leave of at least 1 day per month worked for a full time employee which is pro rata reduced for employees working less than a full time schedule, and at least 10 paid holidays a year. Employees may be eligible for additional bonus compensation.
