We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to fill a key position on our Enterprise Data Operations team as a Senior Business Intelligence Developer at our American Canyon, CA office.

Business Intelligence is essential for our business success, which is centered on empowering our leaders, employees and customers. We are seeking a motivated Business Intelligence Developer who is eager to utilize and grow their technological skills to help WineDirect maintain its industry-leading position and scale to new heights. The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for the creation and maintenance of various BI reports and analysis, data models, and analytical tools to provide data analytical support to various operations competencies of an organization. The Business Intelligence Developer will be an Enterprise Data Platform's champion. They will also assist users with SOPs and error resolution.

You'll also be a thought leader whose opinion is important in making technical decisions that affect the product. Whether your focus is coding, innovation or leading others, we have a spot for you.

What you'll be doing:

  • Define and deliver metrics, reporting platforms, dashboards, and analytical models vital for tracking and managing the business.
  • Identify business challenges and initiate process improvement projects.
  • Facilitate the computerization of analytics and data collection processes.
  • Provide analyses for large datasets necessary for decisions using actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Operations, etc. to build scalable processes and metrics.
  • Responsible for carrying out complex analysis of datasets and conduct appropriate data validation.
  • Responsible for gathering and cleaning of datasets across multiple data sources.
  • Responsible for spotting vital insights and developing the framework of the organization's data system.
  • Provide information on analytic results to business and functional leaders using visualizations to communicate data and metrics, including data maps, leveraging Tableau, etc.
  • Define vital people data performance indicators.
  • Tableau Cloud platform administration.
  • Create SOPs and process improvements for the BI System Develop and update technical documentation.

Who you are:

Candidates must possess highly developed sense of empathy, with a focus on ensuring the best experience for our partners, clients, and the end-consumer.

  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • 5-7+ years of experience with Tableau and SQL.
  • Ability to maintain and manage Tableau-driven dashboards.
  • Knowledge of Tableau Report Performance Optimization.
  • Knowledge of data modeling concepts.
  • Ability to translate business needs to technical specifications.
  • Extensive hands-on in Design, building and deploying BI solutions.
  • Maintain and support data analytics platforms.
  • Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate and improve existing BI systems.
