GraceKennedy Foods (USA) LLC – DBA La Fe is a subsidiary of GraceKennedy Ltd. We are a full-service distributor of a range of over 1,400 products in the categories of grocery, frozen, dairy, and beverages. We represent some of the top brands of food products from the Caribbean, Central America, South America, and Europe.

With operations located in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey; Miami, Florida and Atlanta, GA serving the Eastern United States, our solid network of sub-distributors and wholesalers augment our direct to retail operation, allowing coverage to the mid-western states and the West Coast.

GraceKennedy Foods is responsible for distributing brands such as Grace, La Fe and other owned and principal brands.

Purpose of Job

GraceKennedy Limited requires the services of an experienced Senior Category Product Manager to join the Supply Chain Team. The successful candidate will be required to develop and manage reliable sources of supply of trading and non-trading goods or services for the LaFe Brand.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Category management and procurement for the purchase of all items within the assigned category
• Drive and deliver commercial agreements optimizing value for money
• Adhere to standard global procurement processes
• Partner with the internal compliance group(s) to ensure all aspects of direct procurement are compliant with legal and regulatory expectations.
• Ensure early procurement engagement in projects and significant spending areas to maximize the impact
• Develop deep product and supplier knowledge to drive continuous improvement within the categories managed
• Ensure risk management and contingency planning is in place for all key suppliers
• Develop peer relationships and continually work with key stakeholders to obtain their inputs and ensure strategies and supplier base meet business requirements.
• Undertake adequate analysis and planning to enable effective supplier negotiations which deliver a worldclass cost base
• Create and implement procurement category strategies
• Cost management of the assigned categories, through analysis, negotiation, and tracking of material cost level
• Assist in the development of material specifications
• Evaluate current and new suppliers and conduct tenders, bids, quotations, and proposals
• Support the roll-out of contract terms and conditions, and manage supplier relationships, performance and pricing.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social, Natural or Management Sciences. An MBA or Masters’ degree is a plus
• 5+ years experience in the food retail industry or CPG industry ( US preferred )
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Demonstrable experience managing a team and thriving in a high-performance environment
• Strong project management and presentation skills
• Flexible, responsive, and works well on own initiative
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders
• General understanding of logistics and connections in support of an efficient distribution model
• Ability to deal with high-pressure situations to meet daily/weekly timelines with a high sense of urgency
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel, as well as SAP system environments
• Available to travel 40% of the time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $109,266.94 per year
