Remuneration Range: $80,000 - 100,000 (Please note salary is paid in local currency USD/CAD)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management – As a Senior Consultant in our ESG Performance, Data and Metrics Service Line, you will be expected to manage the delivery of client engagements targeted at improving forest and nature-based performance and disclosures. You will be responsible for these projects being on time, budget, and schedule. You could be managing several projects at any one time, each with their own dedicated project teams.
  • Client Management – Working with a senior client manager, you will share responsibility for managing client expectations as well helping them optimize value through projects to drive continuous, strategic improvement. You will work to develop a trusted advisor relationship with all clients and focus relentlessly on helping them be successful in defining and achieving their sustainability goals.
  • Forests Expertise – You will be advising clients how to prioritize, evaluate and improve their forests positive performance through strategic, programmatic and disclosure recommendations. This will include desktop research, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and the integration of advanced data analytics. You will be responsible for gap analysis, identifying opportunities for improvement and collaborating with Nature team to support clients in developing and implementing strategies to improve performance within operations, value chains and/or investment portfolios.
  • Creative Communication – You will need to be proficient and effective at communicating the client’s sustainability purpose, commitments, and performance, in a way that is credible and authentic, while balancing the technical requirements and the creative aspects of reporting.
  • Business Development – You will be contributing to and developing proposals for potential clients and projects and represent Anthesis during interviews as the consultancy best positioned to support. You will also be expanding scopes of engagement and support with existing clients, helping them drive their sustainability agenda.

Summary of Role:

The Forests Positive consultant will work closely with colleagues across Anthesis North America’s Supply Chain, Climate & Net Zero, Strategy, and Sustainable Production & Consumption practices to deliver subject matter expertise on solutions to advance a nature positive future, supporting implementation of strategies to reverse biodiversity loss and contribute to the restoration and regeneration of critical forest ecosystems across the globe. Your projects and clients will span across a diverse set of industries, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to boutique brands, and require engagement with clients, their suppliers, and their various stakeholders (employees, investors, associations and NGOs) around the world with a focus on helping these clients build the foundation for their forest positive strategies.

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a sustainability practitioner, with expertise in international forestry and/or forest-related commodity supply chains.
  • Ability to identify and articulate opportunities to improve Forest and Nature based performance.
  • Proficiency in some of the following disclosures: CDP Forest, World Benchmarking Alliance’s Nature Benchmark and Nature-related disclosure requirements from S&P Global CSA (DJSI), MSCI, Sustainalytics,.
  • Familiarity with reporting standards or frameworks: Integrated Reporting, GRI, SASB, TCFD, TNFD, AFi.
  • Familiarity with existing and pending ESG disclosure requirements: SFDR, CSRD, ISSB, SEC, etc.
  • A personable and passionate individual that works well with teams.
  • Comfortable and confident liaising with key stakeholders across all levels of a business.
  • An ability to manage a variety of projects at any one time.
