The Senior Director, Integration and Stabilization Services (US) provides strategic direction and oversight for several key national programmatic portfolios, currently including Integration Services, Asylum Services, Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Recovery Programming, and Immigration Legal Services. The position oversees, and ensures effective collaboration between, program leaders who are responsible for the day-to-day operation and administration of their respective portfolios. The position also works closely with the Senior Director for Reception and Welcome Services and the RWS portfolios, currently including Resettlement, Private Sponsorship, and the Refugee Housing Solutions and Refugee Welcome Collective TA projects. This is a creative position which requires a high degree of flexibility, excellent problem-solving skills, and in-depth knowledge of the international and local circumstances surrounding refugee resettlement, immigrant integration, disaster response, and asylum policy in the United States. The position reports to the CWS Vice President of Programs.
Essential Duties
- Oversee the implementation of the Integration and Stabilization portfolio of programming in the United States. Provide leadership, support, and supervision to staff, review and revise work processes and job descriptions, as necessary, and assign responsibilities across the department to ensure smooth delivery of services and program administration.
- Envision, innovate, and adapt strategies for advancing integration and stabilization programming, in line with the CWS US programs vision and strategy. Support Integration and Stabilization portfolio leaders to develop effective work plans, and coordinate with other US Programs Senior Directors, Business Development, Technical Unit staff on determining programmatic priorities.
- Analyze program, public, and feedback data on a regular basis to identify trends, make projections, ensure program equity, and inform the strategic direction of CWS US programs, with a focus on Integration and Stabilization portfolios.
- In coordination with relevant CWS staff, identify funding opportunities related to the portfolio and develop proposals for the programmatic expansion of CWS work in these areas.
- Ensure timely and effective monitoring and evaluation of Integration and Stabilization Services program activities to ensure compliant and high-quality services that promote long-term integration of newcomers, and holistic services to vulnerable communities affected by disasters, in the US.
- Support program directors to ensure that training, technical expertise, and support is provided to CWS affiliate networks as appropriate.
- Together with the Senior Director for Reception and Welcome Services, ensure strong collaborative relationships exist with key funders and partners.
- Lead the portfolio’s internal collaboration with CWS leadership, including finance, operations, business development, and communications, to advance departmental priorities and initiatives and ensure the effective operation of CWS programming.
- Serve as a core member of the US Programs and CWS Global Programs Leadership Teams.
- As appropriate, travel to current and potential program sites in the United States to meet with stakeholders, evaluate capacity, offer training and technical assistance and support community engagement.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as requested.
Qualifications:
A graduate degree preferred. Specialized training and experience in social work, immigrant services, or disaster/emergency response programming in the US is strongly preferred.- Minimum of 12 years of related work experience and 8 years of management/supervisory experience, including 4 years of supervising managers with direct reports.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment required.
