The Senior Director, Actuarial Services is responsible for leading pricing and analytical analyses for Elixir’s health insurance products offered through Elixir Insurance Company (EIC), and for providing strategic and actuarial support for Elixir’s PBM clients in alignment with the policies and practices of Elixir. This position will work with senior management to develop new EIC products and provide actuarial support to our PBM clients that will advance the company’s mission and objectives to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization while maintaining the exceptional level of professionalism and customer service standards that Elixir has attained within the Pharmacy Benefit Management industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Oversee the preparation of the annual Medicare Part D bids by actuarial consultant, and provide guidance, support and review to the bid process for Elixir’s own PDP business

•Lead EGWP underwriting, pricing, quote development and financial analysis • Prepare rate filings for other healthcare products

•Provide strategic, consultative and actuarial support for the Medicare and other segments of PBM services

•Participate in client meetings, including sales presentations, to represent the company’s subject matter expertise in Medicare Part D individual and EGWP business

•Review CMS guidance and regulatory changes, evaluate fianical impact on Medicare business and communicate such impact to internal stakeholders

•Devleop and utilizate actuarial models

•Analyze rate performance, claim patterns and trends and identify potential drivers

•Ensure effective pricing to maintain the financial integrity of the insurance company

•Ensure that the company’s risk exposure is properly assessed and managed to minimize underwriting loss and maintain competitive insurance premium rates

•Propose software solutions, data mining and business intelligence models

•Review and analyze reinsurance and capital requirements of the insurance company

•Mentor other staff members to improve skillset and career potential

REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematical, statistical, financial or actuarial discipline required

· Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) required

· Minimum 10 years of actuarial experience in consulting, health plan or PBM

· At least 5 years of knowledge and experience in Medicare Part D pricing and bid preparation

· Strong data analysis and presentation skills

· A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Financial and statistical analysis, interpretation, and reporting knowledge and experience

· Ability to exercise considerable judgment, maintain confidentiality, and act in a diplomatic manner

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

· A well-organized and self-directed individual who is able to work with minimal amount of supervision

· Capability to efficiently complete tasks in a fast paced environment

· Progressive staff management experience

· Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant with industry demands

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry related software programs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Master’s degree strongly preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is 100% remote, and will require up to 25% travel on a variable basis. Mode of transportation for travel will typically include air travel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $215,000.00 per year
