Praxair Surface Technologies (PST), a subsidiary of Linde, Inc., a Fortune 300 company that supplies atmospheric, process, specialty gases, high-performance coatings, and related services & technologies is seeking a Financial Analyst in Ellisville, Mississippi.

Role Summary/Purpose

As a key member of the Finance team reporting directly to the Associate Director of Finance for PG Technologies, the Analyst will ensure the Ellisville site delivers accurate and timely financial reporting, helping to drive both the internal company rhythms and the external reporting requirements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Along with reporting, this role supports the planning and forecasting cycles of the site and is expected to leverage knowledge of the local operations to improve these processes for the company. The successful candidate will display strong leadership and critical thinking skills in their day-to-day responsibilities. Essential Responsibilities:

FP&A

  • Month-end Close / Forecast updates
  • Manage and lead local month-end close activities
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to drive favorable performance versus budget, forecast, and prior year
  • Provide detailed variance analysis identifying opportunities to improve future performance
  • Create performance reports and ad hoc data reports to support local management
  • Ensure books are stated according to GAAP, working with PST shared accounting service center to propose and book appropriate journal entries
  • Manage and lead local monthly forecasting process utilizing Hyperion
  • Prepare site’s financial slides and report financial results during Monthly Business Review (MBR) presentation with global leadership
  • Support company’s annual 3rd party financial audit
  • Annual Budget
  • Manage and lead local annual budget cycle within published time frame
  • Review budget iterations with local management and ensure key assumptions are documented (volume, headcount, pricing etc.,)
  • Create and upload annual budget updates into Hyperion
  • Capital Expenditures
  • Manage site’s capex process, including review of the initial projects requests and tracking approved project performance, ensuring accountability to deliver the Return on Assets that the investment was projected to generate
  • Lead monthly capex meetings with senior leadership to analyze current spend, remaining budgets, extension & increase requests, expected in-service dates, and strategic actions in response to project budget variances and delays
  • Update the monthly capital expenditure for actual results and forecast in Hyperion
  • Communicate capex status changes to PST shared services
  • Productivity
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Quality functions to identify cost savings opportunities; supporting the team as they execute on the opportunities and tracking/monitoring the savings that the site contributes to the company’s Operating Profit

Inventory

  • Maintain standard costs for the site, performing inventory analysis, and overseeing cycle counts
  • Coordinate weekly inventory cycle count process, audit results, and drive corrective actions
  • Manage and lead annual physical inventory process and evaluate results for risks and process improvement
  • Manage annual inventory obsolescence reserve review process with PST shared services
  • Coordinate inventory of physical assets in accordance with PST policies

Accounts Payable

  • Oversight of local procurement process to ensure compliance with PST policies and best practices
  • Review purchase orders for reasonable quantities (min/max) and verify plant is processing timely receipts for both goods and services
  • Ensure escalation and resolution of payment issues with assistance from local buyer and PST shared services
  • Manage plant open POs with past due receipts and provide corrective actions for recurring procurement process failures
  • Manage and maintain local credit card policy including storing employee credit cards, signing out credit cards for approved purchases, and reviewing spend on monthly basis

Accounts Receivable

  • Oversight of local invoicing process to ensure compliance with PST policies and best practices
  • Partner with shared service center to ensure timely resolution of aged AR

Qualifications - External

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; Masters preferred
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience in corporate finance or accounting
  • Proficiency with financial systems, models, analysis tools including Microsoft Office (e.g Excel, PowerPoint)
