Description:
The Senior Manager of Security will work closely with the Director of Security to assess and mitigate physical threats to workforce and all office locations, investigate potential scams targeting the Firm, and provide a lead coordination role in supporting the Firm's Business Continuity objectives. The primary responsibilities of the Senior Manager of Security are to protect the workforce from physical threats, protect the Firm brand, and support the Firm's Business Continuity Objectives.
Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Investigating and mitigating physical threats reported by members of the H&K workforce.
  • Investigating and mitigating potential scams and/or threats to the brand.
  • Updating the Firm’s Physical and Environmental Security Policy document on an annual basis and assessing compliance with the document at all office locations.
  • Providing tailored security briefings to office locations and partnering with the local Office Manager to develop an Emergency Response Plan (ERP) for the office.
  • Supporting the Firm’s Business Continuity objectives by:
    • Providing proactive monitoring of potential threats to all Firm locations, informing offices as necessary.
    • In coordination with Firm leadership, providing a lead coordination role in responding to Business Continuity Incidents (i.e. hurricanes, earthquakes, pandemics, etc.).
    • Ensure the Firm maintains ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management System (BCMS)) and ISO 27001 (Information Security Management System (ISMS)) certifications by:
      • Updating BCMS documentation annually.
      • Conducting annual tests of the Firm's Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
      • Supporting internal and external ISO audits by providing requested artifacts/documentation and supporting office compliance assessments/visits.
      • Conducting quarterly BCMS Committee meetings.
    • Conducting an annual Business Impact Assessment (BIA) of every office and department.
    • In coordination with the department heads and local office leadership, updating the Operations Center Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and the Law Office BCP on an annual basis.
    • Ensuring the Business Continuity Portal is kept up to date.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in responding to client questionnaires that have a Physical Security and/or Business Continuity component.
  • Special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum two years' experience working in a position dealing with physical security.
  • Proven track record of working with local, state, and federal law enforcement.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills to assess and mitigate threats and scams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to provide senior level briefings and reports.
  • Proven ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of ISO (International Organization for Standardization), with a track record of preparing ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 documentation preferred.
Minimum Education:
  • College degree preferred but not required.
In accordance with the New York City Human Rights Law, the Colorado Equal Pay Act, and the California Pay Transparency Law, the pay range for this position in New York City is $124,800 - $187,200, in Colorado is $109,200 - $163,800, and in California is $119,600 - $195,000. These ranges are specific to these three locations and may not be applicable to other locations. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience.
