SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Network Administrator. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day network engineering and operational support for unclassified and classified networks. Candidate will work on network related projects and report progress to customer, recommend solutions for new equipment, software, network configuration, design, and management to include the detail, specification, and hardware components at a government location in Aberdeen, MD.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify technology issues and solutions to solve them
  • Install, configure, and maintain Layer 2 and Layer 3 Network devices
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of the expansion, modification, and redundancy of the network using established change procedures
  • Validate and verify the proper functioning of network devices by conducting diagnostics and testing of customer networks using software/hardware tool suites
  • Help design, build, and implement firewall management practices: modify, add/remove policies.
  • Conduct traffic analysis and network research, analysis, and engineering
  • Perform Network Modeling and Simulation
  • Assist customer with network security audits and inspections.
  • Work with other IT teams e.g. Sever, helpdesk, Information Assurance/Security, etc, to effectively meet customers’ needs.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of related experience or an Associate of Science and 9 or more years of related professional experience required
  • Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Must have experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining L2 and L3 switches, routers, firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Experience with Fortigate, Juniper, Palo Alto, and/or Cisco Firewalls
  • Understanding of VLANS, layer 2 switching, LAN Management, and Ports, protocols & services
  • Knowledge of network monitoring applications and methods such as Solarwinds
  • Familiarity with CISCO ISE, RADIUS servers, and 802.1x
  • Familiarity with DISA STIG and IAVM procedures
  • Ability to install, configure, and maintain L2 and L3 switches, routers, firewalls, and other network devices.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and formulate response/recommendation to customer
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • IAT Level II with Security+ CE and Cisco CCNA required within 6 months of employment
