Mengali Accountancy, a successful, progressive, values-driven accounting firm located in beautiful downtown Healdsburg, CA, provides accounting, tax and consulting services for many diverse, complex and dynamic companies in the real estate space. Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a highly motivated team player with 5+ years of highly relevant experience who thrives in a fast-paced and technology-rich environment to lead multifamily/residential real estate client engagements.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

Day to day responsibilities may be a combination of preparation review of team members’ work as it relates to various real estate client deliverables:

Property Holding Portfolio Management

• Independent review of monthly financial statements, including adjusting entries, as needed, knowledge of GAAP and tax reporting basis is required
• Maintenance of various supporting workpapers including property tax accruals, prepaid insurance, mortgage loan amortization, and equity tracking
• Creation of monthly capital draw packages and funding requests
• Analyze title closing statements and independently develop acquisition, disposition, and refinance calculations
• Reconciliation of intercompany accounts through corporate structure
• Analysis of profitability for distributable cash calculations
• Annual budgeting
• Work with outside tax preparers and auditors on annual audits, including preparation of tax projections and tax preparation and audit workpapers
• Review tax returns for completeness and accuracy
• Review audit reports for completeness and accuracy

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS, in Accounting
• Minimum of 5+years relevant experience in the real estate investment / private equity or public accounting sector
• Multi-entity experience required
• GAAP and tax knowledge preferred
• Highly proficient in Excel
• Extensive Quickbooks and /or Yardi experience required
• Team player with strong work ethic
• Detail oriented and highly organized with strong leadership skills
• Active CPA license or CPA eligible preferred
