KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Director of Revenue Integrity, the Senior Revenue Analyst will:

  • Conduct routine analysis of the revenue cycle (such as net patient service revenue actual vs budget) and other revenue cycle analysis as assigned.
  • Reconcile governmental and third-party billing and collections on a daily, weekly and monthly schedule to prepare month-end close procedures.
  • Review Point of Service collections to ensure cash receipts are consistent with payment applied by the Billing Vendor and Front End Staff.
  • Review current performance results (charges, income, accounts receivable, collection rates) and compare these to budget projections and prior year performance a practice, division, group or the PBO. This may be high-level payer analysis or more discreet analysis of CPT codes or payer issues, etc.
  • Review and support updating the chargemaster on annual basis.
  • Work with other analysts to ensure complete revenue reports.
  • Assist monthly with third party revenue entries for financial statements.
  • Generate reports for management and the Practices to review and analyze third-party denials and adjustments for early intervention to ensure maximization of revenue.
  • Generate routine reporting of cash goals, denials trending, work queue aging and copayment collections as well as other applicable key performance indicators on monthly basis.
  • Work with the Director and Practices to develop and maintain Dashboards within Epic for reporting needs.
  • As delegated, meet regularly with Practices and internal customers regarding third party revenue and provider productivity.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to identify reporting needs to identify customized reporting to address specific business needs.
  • Collaborate with OCHIN Specialists to develop reports that will help maximize revenue.


  • Solid understanding of healthcare billing, finance, and accounting principles.
  • Understand billing, coding, and medical terminology
  • Be able to analyze claim rejections, denial reports and analyze them to find the root causes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of management and staff.
  • Familiarity with OCHIN Epic billing/scheduling systems (or other electronic billing systems a plus) as well as reporting tools.
  • The Revenue Analyst must provide strong analytical ability in analyzing the third-party reimbursement issues and help identify policies and procedures that any new processes will require.
  • Must be able to handle multiple complex tasks and priorities.
  • Be able to provide varying levels of support to the executive management team
  • Be able to prepare monthly financial and ad-hoc reporting using EPIC and Business Object
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial and operational date and/or governmental/payer regulations.
  • Business Objects (Crystal, SQL and Clarity) reporting experience is preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook) required and Access
  • Ability to successfully manage numerous tasks simultaneously.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in health care revenue cycle; hands-on experience in accounting a plus.
  • BS in Health Care finance and/or accounting required.
