Senior Software Engineer Job at First Mid Bank & Trust
Design, develop, and implement software to support the company’s information systems.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for designing, developing, testing and deploying automation solutions for internal functions as well as source code & change management procedures
- Work with our users to define automation requirements and develop functional/technical specification documents/diagrams
- Collaborate with our users to assess business processes and identify opportunities for process automation that increase efficiencies, reduce cost and reduce operational risk
- Subject Matter Expert with existing automations developed using robotic process automation software & tools
- Coach Software Engineers, and assist when needed, to manage and resolve Level 2 technology issues. Develop and present solution alternatives along with recommendations to our users
- Coach Software Engineers, and assist when needed, with performing root cause analysis on the Level 2 failures and making changes to the automations to address the root cause
- Promotes, enhance and maintains technical knowledge via benchmarking, seminars, webinars and etc.
- Build and maintain knowledge of new technologies or technology opportunities and assists in development of analysis of their use for functional business departments in the area of automation
- Responsible for being the liaison between the Information Technology and the Business to provide project updates, answer questions and coordinate required testing/deployment activities
- Complete required training
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in this field or equivalent education/work experience
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle incudes design, development, testing, deployment and support responsibilities
- Expert with Nintex Bot (aka Foxtrot), Microsoft Power Apps or Fiserv Director (Hyland Onbase) Workflow a plus

- Able to effectively communication both verbally and in writing, to individuals of various levels of computer/technical skills
- Able to handle problems in a professional manner
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Fast learner with system aptitude
- Good priority management skills to allocate time to the appropriate efforts
- Ability to maintain a network of peers to stay on top of industry knowledge and generate new ideas
- Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities to provide leadership
