Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides direct patient care by assisting the surgeon in achieving desired surgical outcomes. Aids perioperative team by scrubbing and caring for the patient before, during and after surgical intervention.

What qualifications you will need:

Preferred Education:Associate of Science in Surgical Technology or Applied Science.

Required License:Surgical Technologist: Current BCLS certification. Certification with NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technologists and Surgical Assisting) is to be obtained within one year of date of hire for individuals hired after August 1, 2007.LPN in Surgical Technologist role: Current BCLS certification. Current NC license. Certification with NBSTSA is to be obtained within one year of date of hire. Individuals hired prior to August 1, 2007 are exempt from the certification requirement.

Preferred License:None

Required Experience:Surgical Technologist: Three years surgical technician experience with an Associate of Science in Surgical Technology or Applied Science OR Five years surgical technologist experience in an operating room setting. LPN in Surgical Technologist role: three years surgical technologist experience with an Associate of Science in Surgical Technology or Applied Science OR five years surgical technologist experience in an operating room setting

Preferred Experience:5 years surgical technologist experience
