Fahrenheit Advisors has been retained to assist our client, The Luck Companies and the Family Office in their search for a Tax Manager.

Summary

The Tax Manager will support the tax function for the Company and its owners by partnering with the Director of Tax Services on all aspects of domestic and international taxes, including the tax planning, compliance, and provision procedures. The successful candidate will work with internal business partners, service providers, tax authorities and other tax professionals to carry out their responsibilities. Position reports directly to the Director of Tax Services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF ROLE

  • Facilitate and manage the preparation and review federal and state tax returns (corporate/pass-through/individual) and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms.
  • Manage members of the tax team (or oversees outside tax preparers as appropriate) as they prepare income tax returns and other tax documents.
  • Plan for and develop overall return calendar and coordinate timing and delivery with key parties.
  • Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures, including progressive advancements in digital technology, security and reporting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes applicable to a high-net-worth family and privately-owned company, including estate and gift taxes.
  • Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
  • Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
  • Assist in the development and administration of estate planning strategies and trusts.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
  • Provide support with various internal audits and special tax related projects.
  • Prepare/review quarterly/yearly tax projections and distribution calculations.
  • Analyze complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations.
  • Assist in tax technical research regarding specific transactions and various ad hoc needs. This includes developing and writing technical memorandums or other correspondence.
  • Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support-decision-making.
  • Coach and mentor members of tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.
  • Participate in the development of the team through teachable moments and by the giving and receiving of feedback.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tax and/or Accounting.
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience. Large public accounting firm or large corporate tax department is required.
  • CPA required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Must possess a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a team-based environment.
  • Extensive tax technical and procedural knowledge for individuals, corporations, and flowthrough entities.
  • Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
  • Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks for self and other team members.
  • Strong skills and experience with: Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, Various Tax
  • Compliance and Research Products.

Pay: $90,031.44 - $155,747.85 per year
