THE POSITION: Senior Wedding Planner

Job Details:

An enthusiastic individual who has worked in the world of weddings and events full-time in either the Wedding Planning, Design, Catering or Floral industry, for a minimum of 6 years.

This person has vast experience in both Wedding sales and Client management. They have an existing Chicago Weddings & Events network and are excited by the opportunity to take on existing CJDE Clients as well as grow and lead our planning division.

This is a hybrid position, one that honors flexibility, autonomy and accountability, with various “work remote” days as well as days in our design studio, located in the Goose Island area of Chicago.

Superior management skills are a must as well as an eye for event design. Working alongside CJDE designers, if you love to collaborate in an environment that encourages team work as well as a balance of “Type A” and “Type B” roles, this is THE position and career for you.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Overall Client Management of Weddings, as Senior Wedding Planner

• The Sales Process of Full Service Weddings + a select number of Day-of Coordination Weddings. Please note: At CJDE, Day-of Coordination services are only offered when a Client is also a Florist Client.
• Follow CJDE’s diligent process, managing actionable next steps of our couple’s wedding planning journey including:
• Vendor Management
• The CJDE Experiential Design Process
• Wedding Weekend on-site management, working alongside CJDE Event Coordinators

• Management of Client budgets, timelines and checklists
• Proactive project management - to learn how to anticipate what is needed next for an event. Working autonomously, however alongside CJDE coordinators, designers and producers
• For larger CJDE Productions, working alongside other planners including Christine as a Wedding Planner

Experience Requirements:

• 6 years of wedding and event experience in either the wedding planning, catering, event design or floral design industry.
• Experience must include 6 years of working at events on-site; from start to finish. What that means to CJDE per role:
• CATERING:
• Managed the sales inquiry process.
• Managed the sale and management of BEO’s.
• Development of floorplans (social tables or all seated), payment schedules, production timelines, working alongside wedding planners/executing wedding day production timelines from a catering perspective.
• Managed a diverse team with various skills ranging from culinary, servers and rental vendor partners.

WEDDING PLANNING:

• Managed day-of coordination and partial clients as the lead planner.
• Reporting directly to a lead wedding planner.
• If full service planning experience is not a part of your 5 year experience, CJDE does require full-time employment at either a planning, design, catering or planning company.
• Development of floorplans (social tables or all seated), payment schedules, production timelines, working alongside all vendor partners is required.

EVENT DESIGN / FLORAL DESIGN:

• Managed the sales inquiry process.
• Managed the sale and management of design plans and proposals.
• Worked in partnership with producers, design team and floral designers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
