Server assistants, help hosts and servers in restaurants, and are an integral part of a restaurant’s staff. The job of a server assistant involves removing the dirty glassware, silverware, and plates after use by guests. Everything else left on the table by the guests must also be removed. After doing this, they will have to rearrange the table in conformity with the in-house standards of the restaurant, by setting up plates, glasses, and any new utensils that have been left there before the table was used.

• Assists servers in their tasks.
• Serves water, bread and butter as guests are seated
• Ensures all service stations in the kitchen are stocked and ready for service
• Removes soiled dishes from table; brings to dish washing area
• Completes set up and teardown of banquet and dining events as assigned
• Carry food trays to tables using the correct seat positions on the ticket.
• Place entrée to the correct seat positions accordingly, serving the women first
• Sets tables with silverware, glassware and other items
• Polishes silverware before and after shifts
• Removes soiled linen, restocks work area with clean linens
• Stocks servers’ station with supplies
• Stocks bus station continually with ice, coffee, teas and other supplies
• Collects trash from dining room, grill and other specified places after each serving period
• Maintains cleanliness of all dining and patio areas.
