Palmetto Propane is a family owned Propane and Refined Fuels company that is expanding and searching for Service Technicians. Our Service Technicians will install, diagnose and service gas lines, propane tanks, and appliances. Our Service Technicians work efficiently and hold safety as a top priority. Working in varying environmental conditions is required. We are looking for Technicians that are experienced with lifting heavy objects, physically working steadily, and are independently productive with minimal supervision. Candidates must be able to pass our training and skills assessment testing and be able to respond to Emergency Service Request when on call. If you meet these requirements we encourage you to apply.

Job Summary (Purpose):

The Service Technician will oversee the workflow in the assigned region. They will be responsible for conducting service work and installations.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

• Must have extensive knowledge of the propane industry and prior experience as a service technician
• Ability to collaborate with others to ensure execution of objectives
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and motivate team

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform Service work/installations while adhering to safety codes and performing proper documentation
• Meeting with customers and scoping potential job sites for installation. Communicate to salesperson if needed.
• Ensure adherence to safety and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Past experience as a service technician in the propane industry preferred
• Familiarity with company policies and safety guidelines of the field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Class A or B Commercial Drivers License, with Hazmat endorsement preferred

Working conditions:

• Heavy communication with field operations
• Work in all weather environments
• Work in tight confined spaces

There will be a sign on bonus of up to $1500 depending on experience.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
