How you will impact Ingevity:
- Lead Safety/Health/Environmental efforts on shift. Develop a safety-first culture that is focused on adherence to process safety & operational stewardship principles.
- Perform initial incident investigations, including thorough information gathering and detailed documentation in electronic incident tracking system Dakota.
- Shift incident commander (Fire/HazMat). Knowledgeable of requirements for Emergency Response Team (ERT), including First Responders and Fire Brigade.
- Oversee and direct all off hour plant functions (Operations/Shipping/Maintenance), ensuring adherence to plan.
- Understand daily work expectations (plans), monitor and execute plans, and then effectively report back on progress, issues, and follow up that is needed.
- Direct personnel on shift, which includes ensuring performance management, coaching, and providing employee feedback.
- Ensure team meets all shipment and product quality specifications.
- Communicate and work with adjacent Paper Mill during off hours, weekends, and holidays. Maintain regular contact with the Paper Mill Facilitator to discuss any issues/impacts to Ingevity operations.
- Call out for additional resources as needed. Assist QC Lab with call outs to ensure proper shift staffing as needed.
What you need to succeed:
- 5+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing plant environment and 2+ years of people leadership experience is required. Candidates who have 3+ years of experience in a chemical or similar industrial plant environment with a BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering will be considered.
- Experience in a chemical plant in production and/or maintenance roles is strongly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance processes is required.
- Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations and principles is required.
- Demonstrated ability to learn SAP, plant processes, shipping/receiving processes, and production flow for all areas.
- Aptitude for facilitation, problem solving, strong written and oral communication, computer software proficiency, and effectiveness at leading individuals and groups towards the resolution of issues is required.
- The Shift Facilitator will work rotating shifts. Candidates must have the ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays (as required).
- This position is eligible for relocation assistance.
