For over 40 years, Manchester Industries, a Clearwater Paper Company, has demonstrated a passion for providing packaging and paperboard solutions to our customers. Manchester’s five strategic locations ensure speed to market and a high-quality product. With a total of fourteen precision sheeters, three slitter rewinders, five guillotines, and four carton packing lines, we have the capacity to produce over 170,000 tons of finished product for the marketplace. We maintain an average daily inventory of over 16,000 tons to meet the demands of our customers providing “Just in Time” service for customer needs.

This position is located at our site in the Dallas, TX area. This area is popular for its football team the Dallas Cowboys and sporty spirit, this city is a perfect blend of modern architecture and rich heritage. Aside from being a shopping and financial hub, Dallas has a thriving music scene and is also a hotspot for cultural activities including opera, ballet, musicals, and symphony concerts. Popular destinations include the Dallas Museum of Art, The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, and a 212-acre gigantic theme park Six Flags Over Texas. Even with the size of the city, there are several ways to stay connected and involved including the American Cancer Society, Angel Hands Foundation, Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, the Humane Society, and much more. Dallas boasts some of the highest performing schools in the country through the Dallas Independent School District and the Dallas School District. What you will do

• Measure team performance and provide performance feedback to the Management team to ensure performance is addressed and supported
• May be a designated back-up to the Production Manager for incidental backfill and development
• Foster an atmosphere where information is freely shared, and employees work towards a common goal
• Ensure assigned crew completes training plans to ensure the knowledge, skills, and abilities meet expectations for production personnel and compliance with company policies/practices
• Ensure standards for customer service, product quality, equipment and operator performances are maintained.
• Ensure Quality processes, procedures, and associated documentation is utilized.
• Work with the Operations Manager and Production Manager to ensure the fulfilment of on-demand manufacturing operation in a quick turnaround business model leveraging utilization of all resources (ex: asset management, capacity planning and resource management)
• Assist with scheduling and ensures schedules are met for on-time delivery of goods
• Direct team during shift start up meeting; inform team of throughput goals, processes, and requirements
• Assist shipping and receiving (2nd and 3rd shift responsible for inbound and outbound)
• Ensures the optimization of the assembly/fulfilment processes and related material/production workflow
• May be responsible for accurate inventory usage/movement and reconciliation of goods and supplies for their crew and participate in month-end inventory activities

What you will need

To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:

• High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Management or related field preferred.
• Minimum of five years of industry experience, preferably in a high-speed environment.
• Minimum of one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in the paper industry with experience in converting/distribution strongly preferred, demonstrated knowledge of operating process and positions.
  • Prior working experience with the following sheeting/cutting technologies:
    • Jagenberg, Synchro
    • Marquip, Sheet Runner
    • Syebold, Guillotine or Ream Cutter
