Crate Builder
Pay Rate: $16-17/hour
Shift: First Shift – 7:00am – 3:30pm
Staffworks Group is seeking Craters for a customer in Cleveland that manufactures a full line of packaging and process equipment specializing in industrial packaging, food service, and stainless steel tables.
This position is responsible for designing, building and preparing custom wooden shipping crates for shipment of equipment by truck.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs and builds crates using measuring devices, pneumatic tools, power saws, carpentry tools and hand tools
- Utilizes hand grinder for cosmetic finish on stainless tables and carts prior to crating
- Efficiently and safely moves, stacks and stages products and materials using a forklift or floor jack
- Follows all safety procedures to safeguard against accidents. Maintains a clean, safe work area
- Performs daily safety inspections on equipment during daily startup
Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior carpentry experience
- Must have experience using power saws including miter and table
- One-year continuous experience using forklift or comparable equipment
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
