Chevron is accepting online applications for the role of Shorebase Operator located in the Golf of Mexico through February 15th at 11.59pm.

The Gulf of Mexico Business Unit is part of the Deepwater Asset Class, with six Deepwater production facilities and a drilling program with three rig lines performing drilling, completions, workover and plug and abandonment operations. The Shorebase Operator works an onshore rotational schedule (7/7 ) at the C-Port 3 Shorebase Facility in Port Fourchon and reports to the Logistics DSC & Shorebase Supervisor Nathan Taylor / Jamie Pitre. This role is critical in providing material handling expertise and is considered a key liaison between the Shorebase and Logistics Decision Support Center for execution of vessel trip plans, as well as a key link between the Shorebase and offshore requestors in both Production and Wells Operations. The Shorebase Operator serves as a Company liaison for various regulatory agencies and during routine regulatory inspections. Periodically provides oversight of third-party activities and third party Shorebase employees and commonly serves as the Person Leading Work for all appropriate applications. Emphasizes safe operations and One Team execution

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Provide oversight and instruction for shorebase crews in the safe and efficient loading, offloading, and staging of equipment and supplies for all offshore operations, including critical handling of oil field tubular goods for drilling and work-over operations. Provide work direction for handling, shipping, and storage of hazardous material. Tally materials (via Shipping Manifest program) to verify accuracy of delivery invoices. Originate, complete, and distribute paperwork associated with all material handling (including hazardous materials) and other shorebase activities. Prepare Marine Equipment Status Reports for hire, transfer, and release of marine vessels. Provide oversight for Marine Fuel reconciliation process. Track and monitor vessel arrivals to and departures from the shorebase to optimize shorebase resources and vessel scheduling. Track transfer of surplus equipment and reports material movement to teams as needed. Work with Trucking Coordinator to ensure timely and efficient shipments to optimizing trucking resources. Report and take necessary actions to correct all unsafe or non-complaint conditions. Ensure all shorebase activities are performed in compliance with the Company Crane Program and Lifting & Rigging Guidelines. Serve as a resource for emergency planning and response corresponding with the NRC, USCG, DEQ, EPA, State Police, Harbor Police, and all other regulatory agencies, as well internal functions as needed.

CRITICAL SELECTION CRITERIA:

Operational Excellence: Demonstrated behaviors in alignment with Operational Excellence, Incident-Free Operations, and We Lead. Demonstrated experience with appropriate procedures and proper documentation to ensure that the shipping and storage of hazardous waste and materials comply with applicable Company and regulatory agency requirements. Strong working knowledge of both onshore and offshore HAZMAT regulations in addition to onshore regulations set forth by various agencies, including DEQ, DOT, USCG, EPA, etc. Experienced as a Person Leading Work and with the use of Stop Work Authority.

Technical Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of Marine Logistics and support vessels. Demonstrated experience in shorebase operations in support of Deepwater locations. Experience in equipment and materials handling best practices. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications. Understanding of Production and Wells Operations, equipment, and materials. Familiarity with MSRE process and marine assurance principles. Ability to obtain any relevant certifications or licenses.

Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills. Experience in communicating with regulatory agency representatives. Ability to effectively communicate across different functions within the organization. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and align teams on work plans. Demonstrated leadership ability aligning and inspiring company and contract personnel.

Build Relationships: Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and align across teams on shared goals and outcomes. Experience fostering One Team environment in which different perspectives ad experiences are encouraged and appreciated. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Logistics experience
  • Experience with Microsoft suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability and willingness to participate in office and other offsite meetings and frequent visits to 3rd party locations
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, and functional capacity examination.
  • Ability to work rotational work schedules (e.g., 7/7 )

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Logistics applications experience
  • Onshore and/or offshore HAZMAT experience
