RCX Sports is looking for an experienced social media professional to join our dynamic marketing team to help grow and develop our social media presence. As the Social Media Coordinator you will be responsible for creating and sharing impactful, engaging content across channels for Jr. Home Run Derby and Pitch, Hit & Run. The Social Media Coordinator will assist the Sr. Manager, Social Media & Content with event coverage and coordinate strategy and execution of all social media efforts. You will help drive meaningful growth and engagement for the MLB’s youth skills competitions. To be successful in this role you will need to collaboratively work with internal and external partners to develop content and build relationships with players, clubs, fans, and followers.

What you’ll do:

  • Create and share content for MLB Pitch, Hit & Run and MLB Home Run Derby channels
  • Engage with fans and followers; answering queries, responding to comments, building community
  • Build and maintain content calendars
  • Stay up to date with social media trends and current best practices
  • Coordinate content planning with MLB, Play Ball, and major partners
  • Communicate and collaborate with RCX event staff, freelance creatives, and MLB partners
  • Analyze campaign performance and social growth
  • Attend events and produce live social media content
  • Help manage social media for RCX Sports and additional properties where needed

Requirements:

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • One or more years of experience as a Social Media Coordinator or similar role (1-2 years’ experience in digital and/or social media in sports industry preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge and mastery of social channel mechanics, best practices and building engagement with TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and CMS tools
  • Proven track record of creative thinking, storytelling, and ability to plan and propose new ideas
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, quickly, and to regularly meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills and ability to build authentic, collaborative relationships with internal and external partners
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Previous experience in videography, photography, and video editing skills preferred
