Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement long term strategic sourcing roadmap with broad impact on the business and focus on material cost optimization initiatives through design, competitive leverage, insourcing/outsourcing, process improvements and best-cost country potential.
  • Establish one or more cross-business/functional commodity team(s) and lead the team (engineering, supplier quality, quality, supply chain, operations) to determine business needs and drive the execution of the commodity strategic plan. Develop business case for action.
  • Monitor supply markets and trends including product developments on a global level. Monitor effectiveness of the strategy and anticipate business challenges to proactively champion changes to the strategy.
  • Primary relationship owner for Integer with strategic suppliers, actively manage all aspects of the supplier relationship.
  • Responsible for all strategic supplier management activities, including understanding of supplier markets and trends, supplier selection and sourcing process management, price control and negotiations.
  • Develop, negotiate, and implement supply agreements based on continuous improvements in all areas of the business. Monitor and report compliance to commodity contracts and strategy.
  • Structure on-going supplier assessment and performance review meetings with strategic suppliers. Establish improvement expectations and follow up on progress made.
  • Collect and analyze data, select suppliers for the bid process and contract negotiations.
  • Initiate supplier selection that leads to sourcing decisions with lowest total cost, required quality, delivery levels with minimum level of risk. Actively support new product launches by sourcing new components and materials in line with the defined commodity strategy.
  • Meet sourcing functional goals such as deflation, free cash flow and supplier on time delivery. Drive project execution and recovery actions where required.
  • Support operations in resolving major supplier issues (capacity, supply, quality), taking leading role as required.
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure that budgeting, standards, and savings data is accurate for the assigned commodities.
  • Operate in a professional manner with the highest personal integrity and in accordance with Integer Code of Ethics policies.
  • Adhere to Integer’s Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline is required. MBA degree is considered a plus.
  • Professional certification (CPM, CPSM, 6 Sigma) is a plus.
Minimum Experience:
  • 8-10 years of experience in strategic sourcing and global procurement in manufacturing industries, that includes experience developing and leading the implementation of commodity strategies.
  • Specific commodity expertise (i.e. metals, plastics, chemical, etc.). Recognized inside and outside the organization as subject matter expert.
  • Experience communicating complex ideas, anticipating potential objections, and persuading others, often senior leadership, to adopt a different point of view.
  • Experience leading project teams with notable risk, complexity and broad business impact.
  • Work under very limited supervision.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing strategies resulting in significant financial and operational benefits.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing approaches including value chain analysis, cost models, ESI, partnership development.
  • Strong understanding of all crucial areas of the business and how supply chain and sourcing interacts with all other functions.
  • Strong understanding of supply and market economics on global level.
  • Strong understanding of Procurement and Supplier Management relevant processes. Proficient in applying relevant tools, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively on global level to drive execution of global commodity strategies.
  • Demonstrated negotiation experience and skills.
  • Direct experience in complex supplier contract negotiations.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, negotiating, problem solving and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to build supplier relationships at senior levels.
  • Exhibits high initiative towards resolving major supplier performance issues.
  • Ability to manage all suppliers (global basis) effectively.
  • Must have project management experience including root cause analysis, cross-functional facilitation.
  • Advanced technical knowledge including various manufacturing processes and the ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Strong sense of accountability. Results oriented, can-do attitude.
  • Strong financial acumen especially as related to sourcing and supply chain.
  • Proactive, ability to meet aggressive deadlines and maintain strong internal customer focus required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
