Compensation: up to $60,000

Title: Sous Chef

Summary:

The role of the sous chef is to provide the best possible quality food for our guests as set by the executive chef, executive sous chefs, and the chef de cuisine. The sous chef is responsible for making sure daily systems and tasks are being accomplished. This position reports directly to the Chef de Cuisine
Duties:

  • -Ensure quality of food with standards set by the executive chef, executive sous chefs, and the chef de cuisine.
  • -Delegation of kitchen tasks
  • -Maintain sanitation standards set by the executive chef and the health dept.
  • -Create daily prep and cleaning lists
  • -Meet with chef de cuisine to discuss issues or ideas for improving food and guest experience
  • -Answer guest and employee questions about menu and food preparations
  • - The sous chef will pick up the responsibilities of the chef de cuisine when they are not present in the kitchen.

Qualifications:

  • -Must be proficient in all stations (Sauté, grills, fryer, cold foods, expo, prep)
  • -Strong leadership skills
  • -Works well under high pressure situations
  • -Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
  • -Can withstand physical demands of job (prolonged standing, heavy lifting, long hours)
  • -Must maintain exceptional hygiene and grooming habits
  • -Must possess or attain a ServeSafe Manager certificate within 60 days of hire date
