POSITION DESCRIPTION

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Spa Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Spa

REPORTS TO: Spa Manager

LEADS: Spa Receptionist, Spa Esthetician, Spa Massage Therapist


Summary

The Spa Supervisor will provide support to the spa management team through training, motivating, and leading spa personnel.

The focus of this role will be to ensure our team is portraying a professional, efficient, and friendly demeanor to our guests. Eventually this role will assist in enhancing, creating, and realizing all spa revenue and profit opportunities.

Essential Functions

Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Spa Manager with administrative tasks to include outlet scheduling, merchandising, conducting inventory, tracking financial performance, and the training and development of team members
  • Acts as MOD that requires opening and closing the spa.
  • Respond to guest inquiries regarding spa treatments, services, appointment availability, retail offerings in-person, email, and telephone in a timely and friendly manner.
  • Exhibit a professional attitude, diplomacy, and have the ability to handle difficult situations.
  • Uphold and ensure gracious front desk procedures in the booking and handling of customers.
  • Responsible for being knowledgeable in regard to all services and products provided by The Dewberry Spa.
  • Professionally exhibit proper telephone etiquette with guests in compliance with the terminology dictated by the spa management.
  • Assist with operational audits to insure service standard consistency.
  • Enthusiastically serve guests promptly while implementing proper service standards.
  • Practice all sanitation and safety guidelines provided by both the Department of Health and The Dewberry Spa.
  • Proactively maintain cleanliness standards in all areas of the Spa, Retail and back of house areas.
  • Professionally take and confirm reservations for all services and services and treatments offered at The Dewberry Spa.
  • Performs special projects delegated by the Spa Management.
  • Conducts daily staff line up for up-to-date department communications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • One to two years of spa reception experience preferred.
  • One to two years spa customer service experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult patrons in a calm, but professional manner and have exceptional recovery skills to ensure satisfaction.
  • Work positively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Must be able to quickly adapt to effectively using new software products
  • Must be dependable and available to work within the spa on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day. Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours a day.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally
