Description: Speech Language Pathologists-Matsu Borough School District

Alaska's 2nd largest school district is looking to hire Speech Language Pathologists for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year! We are located 45 minutes outside of Anchorage, AK. We have 19,000+ students across 46 schools. Our communities include: Glacier View, Sutton, Palmer, Wasilla, Butte, Knik-Fairview, Meadow Lakes, Big Lake, Houston, Willow, Talkeetna and Trapper Creek.

Position Description: To provide therapeutic services to students identified as speech/communication impaired in order for them to benefit from Special Education Services or for them to progress adequately in the general education curriculum. To promote positive public relations and meet compliance standards advocated through the Student Support Services Department.

Salary: $56,752 – $72160 starting wage, depending on verification of service and education. MSBSD has a competitive Salary Schedule with an accelerated step advancement. Applicants can bring a maximum of 4 years’ experience. We pay an additional $3,000 bonus PER YEAR for CCCs and provide $3,000 relocation bonus.

Our school year runs from August-May, 185 contracted days for the school year (to put this into perspective, a M-F employee works 260 days out of the year, so you'll be able to ENJOY the Alaska summers!!!)

Leave: Each Certified Teacher/Related Service Provider receives 4 paid personal leave days at the beginning of the year and accrues 1.33 sick leave days each month of employment.

Retirement: MSBSD is a member of the State of Alaska Teachers Retirement System.
