OVERVIEW:


Radio One is looking for a Sports Radio Host to join our Indianapolis team! The Fan is searching for a multi-media sports talk show host who can create engaging and informative content for use on air, online and on social media that serves Indianapolis sports fans and generates ratings and revenue. Should have a track record of hosting success, including an ability to develop, expand, and advance stories. Must be able to develop a strong collaborative relationship with other on-air hosts, our sports partners, contributors, the digital media team and others in the organization.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Host or co-host a daily a daily sports radio show
  • Write, produce, edit and update content for on air, website and social media on a daily basis.
  • Host podcasts and videocasts
  • Make paid and non-paid appearances and broadcasts on behalf of the station
  • Communicate daily with co-host, producer, and programming management to ensure programming goals are met
  • Cooperation with sales department and clients
  • Other duties as assigned by management

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:


  • Present a positive and professional attitude and presence at all station events
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, and in particular the ability to
    communicate around multiple creative projects in a time-sensitive manner
  • Strong attention to detail and solid organizational and project management skills
  • Be able flexible with work hours/duties
  • Can be a positive member of a tight-knit team
  • Able to work independently with little supervision
  • Must be open and responsive to coaching
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Outlook, Word, and social media platforms

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


2-5 years overall radio, television, or other media experience. Sport media experience preferred, but not mandatory. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
