Nicholson Corporation, a diversified and growing Commercial Contractor, is currently seeking an experienced, success oriented, initiative-taking Accountant. This position will report to the CFO.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years’ experience working for a union based commercial contractor. The candidate will be highly detail oriented, enjoy multi-tasking, and understand how to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

This position will be responsible for the workflow and accounting of new and existing commercial construction contracts as well as general accounting transactions and analysis.

Responsibilities include:

· New Job Set Up – Initial & Track completion of Job Information Sheet, Enter Jobs into ERP/Accounting System and Job File Maintenance

· OCIP/CCIP Enrollments and Audits

· Remittance of Labor Rates and related Union Back up to GC’s (for bids &/or Contracts)

· Request Budgets & SOV’s – Enter into ERP System

· Review, Tracking and Entering of GC Change Orders

· Coordinate & work in conjunction with project engineers on Job/Project Close Outs, including reconciliation and close out of committed costs.

· Prepare monthly AIA invoices for projects, including all applicable backup and documentation needed.

· Sales Tax payments and quarterly/annual reporting.

· Collect monthly subcontractor payment applications, review for accuracy, and prepare for Project Manager review. Liaison with Purchasing Department on Issuance & Tracking of Trade Subcontracts.

· Communicate consistently and effectively with subcontractors to reconcile pay application status with respect to original contracts, change orders, and pending change orders.

· Weekly and Monthly Job Cost Reporting and Analysis

· Monthly Financial Close including Balance Sheet Analysis and Related Journal Entries

· Preparation of All Corporate Bank Reconciliations

· Cross Train on all Accounting Functions.

· Assist with SAGE ERP System Implementation.

· Ad Hoc projects, analysis, schedules & reports as needed.

Qualifications:

· Minimum 5 - 7 years relevant experience in the construction industry

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required

· Strong work ethic, detail oriented, organized, professional and dependable.

· Foundation or SAGE experience a plus

· Strong Excel, Word, email, and other relevant computer skills

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
