Responsibilities:
Peraton is seeking a Sr. Computer Systems Engineer/Architect to support the Information Technology Services Desk and Engineering Support department for a Contract at the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of the Chief Information Office (OCIO), Office of Inspector General (OIG). The selected individual will have the opportunity to provide mission critical support to an organization dedicated to the prevention of fraud, waste, and abuse of healthcare resources. This role will provide you with the opportunity to be responsible for maintenance and day-to-day support of the enterprise MECM environment, in which you will assist in the system design and develop solutions to complex applications problems.

This position is located onsite at HHS in Washington, DC. with the ability to telework at the discretion of our government customer. Our team of engineers who do telework must be in the DMV and ready and willing to travel as needed to downtown DC at HQ or to the datacenter in Ashburn, VA.

What you’ll do:


The Computer Systems Engineer/Architect will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

  • Support large array of more than 40 IT projects on a roadmap to drive modernization through digital transformation of the OIG infrastructure, accompanied by a large team of more than 20 engineers.
  • Apply modern endpoint management technologies, you will improve the management, reporting, and analytics of an endpoint fleet consisting of 3k laptops and virtual machines.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in their domain area and will be supported by other technicians at either senior or journeyman level.
  • Create a matrixed environment of resources where multiple backups exist and engineers can gain exposure to different technologies and aspects of the IT infrastructure.
  • Utilize modern endpoint management technologies, you will improve the management, reporting, and analytics of an endpoint fleet consisting of 3k laptops and virtual machines.
  • Perform system packaging, patching and creation of software packages for large enterprise clients or government agency (to include developing, deploying, updating, and supporting custom Windows OS images for laptops and systems)
  • Provide mission critical support after hours or on weekends (as needed) based on needs of the infrastructure, such as break/fix work, after hours patching/upgrades, etc.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years of related professional experience; or a High School Degree and 12 years of related professional experience in lieu of a degree requirement.
  • Must have a minimum of 7+ Years’ Experience as a Systems Administrator; Systems Engineer, System Analyst, Network Administrator or similar IT role
  • Must have experience developing customized Windows OS client images with MECM/SCCM Operating System Deployment (OSD) Task Sequences, Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), and Group Policies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD), specifically group policy management and MECM/SCCM dependence of AD sites and services.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server to support MECM/SCCM operations and reporting.
  • Must have proven experience in the follow knowledge areas:
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • Microsoft Group Policy
    • Microsoft Office 365
  • Proven experience with Azure Active Directory
  • Proven experience a with utilizing PowerShell scripting language
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD), specifically group policy management and MECM/SCCM dependence of AD sites and services.
  • Must have U.S. Citizenship or have been a permanent resident for more than 3 years.
  • Must be able to achieve a Secret clearance/position of trust high risk.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as MECM or SCCM systems lead.
  • Prior project management or leadership experience and demonstrated ability to execute and achieve expected results.
  • Microsoft endpoint configuration manager (mecm) certification
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) certification
  • Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) Certification
  • Ability to effectively work with peers in a team environment, while also working in a self-directed manner on multiple tasks
  • Strong problem analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation; professionalism, patience, and a “people-first” attitude.
  • Must be organized, process-minded and detail-oriented
