PURPOSE

This position provides primary HR support to assigned organizational areas using a proactive, hands-on, and pragmatic work style and approach. The SrHRBP acts as a “trusted, confidential HR resource” to management and staff in achieving strategic and operational business, organizational, and workforce goals and results. The SrHRBP advises, facilitates, and supports the building of a cohesive, high-performance culture and achievement of individual and team goals.

The SrHRBP, in conjunction with the HR Centers of Expertise, applies broad expertise and experience to enable, facilitate, and enhance employee and team performance and productivity in various HR disciplines, including: staffing and recruiting; new-hire onboarding, off-boarding and exit interviewing, performance management, annual performance and 90-day reviews, coaching and feedback, talent management and succession planning, employee relations and issue resolution, organization development and workforce planning, career development, change management and teambuilding, skills training and professional development, and merger due diligence and integration.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Proactively acts as the “HR Pointperson” (i.e., single point-of-contact) for Fund management and staff on all HR matters and activities in an assigned organizational area
  • Acts as an “HR Solution Provider” by anticipating and supporting the timely and successful delivery of business priorities and goals, as well as the resolution of HR issues and situations. The SrHRBP ensures understanding and proficiency in the utilization of HR programs, processes, and tools to enhance organizational innovation and productivity, as well as boost employee motivation, engagement, enablement, productivity, and morale
  • Partners with management to proactively advise, support, and facilitate these essential HR services for efficient and effective operations:
  • Staffing and Recruiting: workforce planning; creates/maintains job descriptions; interviews and schedules interviews internal/external talent; develops employment terms (e.g., new-hires, promotions, transfers, etc.); ensures compliance/consistency with policies and practices and internal fairness and equity in staffing decisions; prepares/facilitates new-hire orientation and onboarding and off-boarding and exit interviewing; utilize HR systems and other productivity tools for efficient and effective HR services; and monitors/evaluates staffing, turnover, and headcount levels
  • Performance Management: facilitates/supports job performance and compensation reviews (e.g., new-hire, annual and 90-day reviews, merit, promotion/demotions, internal equity, etc.); and facilitates/provides individual and team feedback, coaching, and counseling (e.g., performance improvement plans, corrective actions, and documentation)
  • Talent Management: facilitates/supports the use of opportunities and tools for individual and team skills-training and leadership and staff development
  • Succession Planning: supports/facilitates annual talent review and succession planning activities
  • Organization Development: performs benchmarking and assessment of workforce capacity, capability, and productivity; supports/develops organizational structures and processes; enhances management and staff communications and goal-alignment; and supports/facilitates change management
  • Employee Relations: facilitates/resolves employee relations issues; conducts thorough and objective investigations with recommendations for action and follow-up support; maximizes employee engagement and talent retention by encouraging and strengthening work relationships and building morale and camaraderie; and foster a collaborative workplace culture of trust and respect
  • Workplace Safety: leads the Fund’s workplace safety program as its Safety Manager (reporting to the Fund’s Safety Officer). Responsibilities and activities include: program development and delivery (e.g., education, training, quality assurance, drills, handbooks/guides, emergency procedures, etc.); establishing/maintaining relationships with safety/emergency resources (e.g., fire, police, etc.); in partnership with Facilities & Office Services to purchase/make available safety equipment (e.g., AED, first aid kits, emergency tools, etc.) and safety teams (e.g., membership, certification, communication, etc.) in each of the Fund’s work locations; scheduling/conducting safety audits (maintain records, ensure issue resolution, etc.) of the Fund’s work locations; in partnership with Legal, HR, and Facilities & Office Services, creating and maintaining policies/practices to ensure compliance with OSHA and health & safety regulations/standards; managing all aspects of the Fund’s Workers’ Compensation program (e.g., policies/practices, issues and resolution, reporting, inquiries, etc.); and reporting on safety issues/statistics (e.g., tracking, analyzing, governmental inquiries, etc.)
  • Policies and Practices: evaluates, drafts, implements, and trains management and staff on HR policies and procedures (e.g., employment policies and work schedules); and provides guidance, training, and interpretation for HR programs, processes, practices, and tools
  • HR Administration: administers regular and ad-hoc day-to-day operational/administrative activities and duties accurately and in accordance with established protocols, processes, guidelines, forms, timelines, etc. (e.g., status changes, new hires, separations, data for HRIS system and reports, etc.)
  • Supports Facilities & Office Services in compliance with building codes, environmental, and general office standards, where appropriate in connection with the Fund’s Workplace Safety program
  • Supports HR Benefits in the Fund’s ergonomics program (e.g., education, training, standards, etc.), where appropriate in connection with the Fund’s Workplace Safety program
  • Maintains working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and legal requirements and, in partnership with Legal, ensures regulatory compliance on HR matters and activities to mitigate and avoid risks
  • Handles inquiries and complaints to ensure professional, equitable, and expeditious resolution
  • Plans, analyzes, and evaluates programs and services, operational needs, and fiscal constraints
  • Analyzes problems, identifies, and develops alternative solutions, projects consequences of proposed actions, and implements recommendation/solutions
  • Partners with management to supervise, lead, and delegate work and coach, mentor, develop employees
  • Partners with management to recommend hires and promotions, direct and evaluate employment decisions for all assigned positions
  • Assists with developing and coordinating policies and procedures
  • Partners with management to ensure continued employee training requirements, safety and quality initiatives are completed
  • Sets goals and achieve measurable results

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Years of Experience and Knowledge

  • 7 ~ 10 years of direct HRBP or higher experience required
  • 3 ~ 5 years of HR project management experience highly preferred
  • 1 ~ 2 years of related safety management experience highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of and experience in several core HR disciplines, including staffing and recruiting, compensation and recognition practices, organizational assessment, change management, union relations, diversity, performance management, talent management, succession planning, training and development, and merger due diligence and integration
  • Working knowledge of and experience in a managed-care healthcare delivery environment desired
  • Working knowledge of and experience with various HR systems, processes, policies, practices, procedures, and tools; process-oriented with a strong bias for accuracy, simplification, and standardization
  • Solid working knowledge of OSHA regulations, environment, health & safety standards, and Workers’ Compensation regulations and practices
  • Business acumen with an understanding of business planning, financial management, and the key drivers of and performance metrics for success

Education, Licenses, and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience required
  • Preferred: HR certification or working towards certification, such as PHR, SPHR, HCI (e.g., Human Capital Strategist, Strategic Workforce Planning, Strategic HR Business Partner, or Talent Acquisition Strategist), or other professional or industry-related certification
  • Preferred: workplace safety certification or working towards certification, such as the National Safety Council Advanced Safety Certificate

Salary range for this position:
$81,400~$101,700. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to: relevant experience, qualifications, expertise, certifications, licenses, education or equivalent work experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.

Work Schedule (may vary to meet business needs): Monday~Friday, 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours per week) with potential for hybrid work-from-home arrangement.
