We are seeking a Sr. Java Developer to support the Compliance Technology team that develops surveillance, monitoring and reporting tools for quantitative trading activities across all of the group’s products, including options, equities, futures, fixed income, crypto currencies and many others.

The Sr. Java Developer will be responsible for designing and building new tools, and enhance existing surveillance and monitoring tools using multi-threading, object-oriented, and/or parallel programming, and experience with distributed systems. The Developer will work on projects that require knowledge of Java, Spark, Hadoop, HIVE/SQL, and the ability to deliver custom solutions to big data in a performant manner.

• This role is Hybrid and requires an onsite presence of at least 3 days per week after the onboarding period.
• Candidates must be able to work on a W-2 basis for this position.
• Candidates may be subject to a technical assessment as part of the interview process.

Required for the Sr. Java Developer:

• Strong object-oriented design and implementation experience, coupled with Big Data tool experience. Highly desired in Hadoop or Spark.
• Hands-on experience with Java technologies.
• Willingness and ability to work in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach and an analytical mindset.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong communication skills across multiple disciplines including technology, support and business teams.

Preferred for the Sr. Java Developer:

• Familiarity with HIVE/SQL, Oracle, SQL,PL/SQL, and MySQL RDBMS
• Financial services, trade desk, or market knowledge.

Education Requirements for the Sr. Java Developer:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field and at least 6 years of software application development using OOP.
• Individuals with equivalent and relevant education/experience are encouraged to apply.
