At Carrols, a job is never just a job. Its a career. We are excited to search and bring on a new team member in our Safety & Risk department and we are currently recruiting for a Sr. Safety & Risk Management Claims Coordinator to join our team.


The Sr. Safety & Risk Management Claims Coordinator will perform duties related to Risk Management, Workers Compensation, General Liability, Property Damage and other related functions.


Summary of Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage all Workers Compensation, General Liability and Property Damage claims, working directly with employees, guests, insurance companies and TPAs, to obtain favorable outcomes, frequently using routine follow-ups.
  • Secure and provide necessary documentation required to process Workers Compensation claims mandated by States Workers Compensation Boards, including Out of Work slips, and wage statements.
  • Manage return to work program and assist with transitional return to work.
  • Calculate wage continuation benefits for eligible employees out of work due to a work-related injury.
  • Understand the differences in work comp laws in separate states that Carrols operates in.
  • Must be able to decipher common medical information, treatment, and action plans to determine appropriateness.
  • Prepare for and participate in 2-3 claims reviews per year.
  • Must be able to monitor reserves set by claims representatives, know if appropriate and negotiate a reasonable dollar amount.
  • Identify safety hazards and communicate such to responsible parties, i.e. Safety & Risk Manager, District Managers and Restaurant General Managers to prevent future incidents and reduce costs and obtain goals, including situations that arise with the Corporate Office.
  • Process and maintain all Shoes for Crews weekly reports and process payroll deductions or refunds. Process monthly statements for Accounts Payable.
  • Occasionally train and cross-train with other members of the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Two-year degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 2 to 3 years Safety and Risk, Insurance, Claims, Benefits or Human Resources experience required.
