STABLES HAND Job at Black Star Farms
PURPOSE: Support Daily Operations of Stables and Farm
PAY RATE: $14.00
CLASS: Hourly Part Time
HOURS: 10-20 hours per week.
EXPECTATIONS:
Ensure boarded animals are cared for in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Provide clean and safe living spaces for all animals on property and maintain a healthy environment for boarders, guests, animals, and employees.
REPORTING TO: Stables Manager
REQUIREMENTS:
-Must be at least 16 years of age
-Horse experience a must
-Flexible schedule, ability to work weekends, evenings, holidays
-Must be able to move and or lift 70lbs safely
-Ability to walk, stand, or lift heavy objects repeatedly and for long periods of time
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To assist in the care/health of all animals boarded under the Stables operations at Black Star Farms.
- Walk horses to and from pasture.
- Drag indoor and outdoor arenas as needed.
- Make sure paddocks, stalls, and barn aisle way are clean and free of manure, obstructions and debris.
- General barn maintenance.
- Monitor daily upkeep of facilities and report maintenance items to the Stables Manager.
