Brown Memorial Home is looking for dedicated STNA’s to join our team. We are a not-for-profit skilled nursing home and assisted living, located in Circleville, Ohio. We have a low patient to aide ratio. We have 12-hour shifts and are currently looking for Full-time Day Shift. We are a 44 Bed Facility.

  • Responsible to the following chain of command; Charge nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Director of Nursing.
  • Education: Completion of a state-approved certification training program or current state-tested nurse aide status.
  • Responsible for providing direct resident care under the supervision of the charge nurse
  • Request clarification and or training procedures that are not clearly understood
  • Assist new employees in following established facility policies and procedures.
  • Identifies special resident problems and reports them immediately to the charge nurse.
  • Provides direct resident care as assigned, completing assignments accurately and timely.
  • Identifies safety hazards and initiates corrective action immediately.
  • Identifies resident problems and initiates corrective action immediately
  • Provides resident care while observing the implementation of "Resident Rights."
  • Participates in mandatory 12 hours of nurse aide in-services each year. Makes arrangements to make up any hours that are missing from scheduled in-services.
  • Attends staff meetings, in-service classes, and committee meetings as assigned.
  • Follows staffing guidelines for call-offs and accepts adjustments to assignments when needed.
  • Uses supplies and equipment efficiently and effectively
  • Demonstrates consistent ability to work cooperatively with residents, charge nurses, other nurse aides, physicians, families, consult personnel, and other department employees.
  • Provides nursing care as outlined by the Charge nurse, assignment sheets, and resident plan of care.
  • Accurately, completely, and timely documents resident care provided and resident's response or lack of response to care provided on nurse flow records, ADL tracking tools, assignments sheets, meal intake records, and any other documentation provided by a supervisor.
  • Report changes in residents' condition immediately to the charge nurse.
  • Performs basic STNA skills such as toileting, transfers, bathing, feeding, personal hygiene, locomotion, and complete the ADLS for each resident according to the specific plan of care for that resident.
  • Seeks assistance when confronted with a resident problem that requires a special assessment.
  • Greets residents by name and speaks to each resident and family member in a kind thoughtful manner, observes each resident's right to privacy by knocking on doors prior to entry.
  • Listens to residents/family member complaints/concerns attentively and reports problems to charge nurse promptly.
  • Demonstrates concern for all residents' welfare by rendering immediate assistance to any resident in need.
  • Answers call lights in a timely manner.
  • Works with a cooperative and pleasant attitude wherever assigned.
  • Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality.
  • Comes to work in a neat, clean uniform and consistently presents a professional appearance at all times.
  • Assumes accountability for all data contained in the employee handbook.
  • Controls emotions for the best interest of all involved.
  • Protects the privacy of all residents at all times, including information contained in the resident's medical records.
  • Protects the privacy and interest of the facility at all times by not discussing confidential issues with unauthorized persons in or out of the facility. Also protects the interest of the facility at all times related to the personal property of the organization including but not limited to written policies, procedures, original proprietary documents, computer software, and any other facility-owned resources, documents, electronic data, or equipment.
  • Maintains and communicates a positive image/outlook regarding the facility at all times.
  • Maintains proper standards of conduct at all times including following the chain of command and discussing issues related to the job description, facility operations with appropriate persons only; avoiding any situation that could be constructed as gossip, or slanderous to the facility or persons working at the facility.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to operate mechanical lifts.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Physical abilities required include but are not limited to; frequent bending, twisting, turning, pushing/pulling large medication/treatment carts weighing in excess of 100 pounds. Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds independently, frequent need to lift in excess of 100 pounds with assistance, occasional need to support weight in excess of 100 pounds providing controlled lowering of the patient to the floor in situations such as attempting to prevent a resident fall or reduce the impact of a resident's fall, ability to climb stairs on occasion. Potential occupational exposures include but not limited to, odors, chemicals, biohazard fluids, materials, and aggressive residents.'
