Job Description:

Essintial is expanding the structured cabling and electrical services segment of our business. Our continued development of this line of work has led to winning more complex projects that need the oversight of a technical resource to help ensure their success.

The position will include, but not limited to interacting with intracompany and external company stakeholders to review job descriptions, review, critique, and create technical documentation and procedures. They will also assist in planning service solutions, review and creation of customer deliverables, vetting technician resources, and providing an overall assistance in developing this business segment into a mature operation

This position will also require travel as needed for such needs as performing various field service activities or acting as an Essintial liaison to ensure quality work is being performed by various Essintial representatives. Travel and direct installation responsibilities is not the main target of this position but is a required function as needed.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Execute infrastructure projects while monitoring, tracking and intervening on all other infrastructure projects within the project portfolio to ensure team members are successfully delivering projects on time, on budget and with the highest degree of quality
  • Work cross-functionally to plan and manage a portfolio of site deployment projects and activities; execute infrastructure deployment activities associated with IT projects, site expansions, new startups and/or site decommissioning
  • Create IT project plans for the site and validate that business requirements are accurate
  • Hands on position, where ideal candidate will be configuring and deploying their own equipment
  • Deliver weekly project status reports to the Executive Team; manage project issues and concerns while recommending and implementing corrective actions
  • Ensure equipment is procured; maintain inventory stock levels, perform visual inspections and complete minor hardware repairs
  • Stage and configure switches, routers, printers, access points, desktops and other infrastructure components for site projects; install configuration files, operating systems (OS) and applications on equipment, including laptops, hardware, handheld scanners, etc.
  • Test infrastructure equipment to ensure operational readiness and customer acceptance; provide on-site operational support of the infrastructure during go-live
  • Schedule and execute site decommissioning activities, including the e-waste of surplus equipment

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 4 years of related work experience
  • 5 years of experience in planning and delivering IT infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated success with managing a broad portfolio of IT infrastructure projects; proven success executing IT infrastructure projects
  • Established ability to prepare, present and communicate information at the executive level
  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing and mentoring other IT Infrastructure Engineers and deployment resources
  • Advanced understanding of infrastructure technologies (switches, PCs, APs, printers) and connectivity methods (copper and fiber cabling), as well as infrastructure staging and equipment configuration processes and procedures (imaging PCs, configuring printers, loading routers)

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or 5 years of experience delivering IT infrastructure projects
  • Availability to travel 50% of the time
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling, data center architecture and wide area communications
  • Outstanding interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
  • Solid attention to detail and follow-up skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems
  • Ability to prioritize and reassign workload with internal and external teams to meet project objectives
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team environment; able to effectively direct team members and consult with management as needed

MS Suite knowledge is a Must including strong knowledge in Excel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
