Student Ambassador I (SAI) Job at New England College

SAIs will serve in an official capacity as New England College Representatives assisting the Undergraduate Admission Office in the recruitment of prospective students. Prospective students include but are not limited to high school students, transfer students from other colleges, visiting guidance counselors, visiting high school groups, parents, and the general Henniker community. This role will support two areas, tours and events in addition to providing support to Admissions Staff.



Essential Duties Summary
Tours and Events
  • Conduct tours which last 45 to 60 mins on average;
  • Event duties include but are not limited to, event set up, check in, runner, greeter, tour guide, panel participant, event break down, returning event materials to Administration, placement and removal of event signage, parking assistance, info table, and general duties to assist Admission staff.
  • Keep abreast of current New England College programs, policies and procedures to ensure accurate responses to questions often posed during tours and events;
  • Participate in training and departmental meetings as scheduled;
  • Maintain a professional presence as a representative of New England College at all times during events and tours.
Support for Admission Staff
  • Assist Admission Staff with general administrative tasks such as word processing, filing, bulk mail preparation, for event preparation;
  • Provide backup coverage for the Front Desk at the Administration Building. This includes but is not limited to greeting and assisting families and managing/triaging any incoming calls;
  • Assist Admission Counselor staff with telemarketing and special projects including but not limited to contacting prospective families, participating in panels, and providing tours to visiting middle and high school groups;
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled in a New England College undergraduate program.



Preferred Qualifications

Previous leadership experience from clubs, organizations, teams, or other employment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Skills
The ability to speak in front of others including large groups
Customer service skills
Organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
