Summary
The Student Ambassadors are a customer service centered team whose primary responsibility is to occupy the Student Unions information desks. This team represents the student spirit of the Unions and serves as the initial point of contact for numerous different customer interactions.
The day-to-day responsibilities of a Student Ambassador include but are not limited to; assisting customers with questions pertaining to events, updating marketing signage, checking out laptops, games and other supplies; and maintaining the appearance of desks and other functions necessary for the success of the Unions. Ambassadors may also offer guidance and information on University life and other community related information for our visitors.
Essential Functions
Ambassadors will perform some or all the duties listed below and may be assigned to work in one or more service areas or functions:
Provide excellent customer service to all Missouri Student Unions students, customers, and guests.
Assist customers in confirming their reservations using the reservation system (EMS) and other service requests. Maintain working knowledge of Missouri Student Unions policies and procedures, event spaces, tenants, and specific details about available resources in both the MU Student Center and the Memorial Student Union.
During weekend coverage; assure buildings are open, tv’s and lamps are on, outdoor umbrellas are open and outdoor wrought iron furniture is correctly placed.
Serve as a contact point for communication with administration, full-time support staff and other student staff regarding concerns, suggestions, and problems involving the day-to-day operations of the Missouri Student Unions.
Check out and maintain equipment such as laptop computers, board games, and supplies.
Additional Responsibilities
Attend all staff meetings and participate in periodic training sessions scheduled by the department.
As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities is expected in order to serve the customer and maintain our Missouri Student Unions mission.
Physical Requirements
Position requires sitting, standing, and walking and climbing stairs.
Must be able to bend, squat, and reach on occasion.
Capable of lifting, moving, and transporting materials on occasion.
Use of a computer and other office technology involving fine finger movements will be required for retrieving and entering work information.
Communicate orally and in writing with various audiences.

$12.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for a student title, an individual must be enrolled at the University of Missouri. Enrollment in the summer session is not required if the student was enrolled in the spring semester and is pre-enrolled for the fall semester.
Available to work during evenings, weekends, breaks and intersessions.
Must have reliable transportation to campus all hours of the day and/or night.
A positive and friendly disposition, flexibility, knowledge about campus, and strong communication skills.

Availability to work 8-12 hours per week on a regular basis.
Possess an outgoing personality and the ability to greet strangers, excitement for public speaking, passion for involvement and enthusiasm for Mizzou, strong organizational skills, good time-management skills, reliability, a sense of commitment to the work place, and the ability to work with a variety of people.
