Student Financial Services Specialist

Bargaining Unit/Salary Level:

Salary is commensurate with the Agreement between the MCCS Trustees and the MEA Administrators Unit Level 1.

Responsibilities:

This position serves to assist with both Financial Aid and Student Accounts by providing administrative support in the areas of student financial aid advising, financial literacy outreach, account review, as well as student billing and refunds. This position will provide critical support through front office staffing of walk-in traffic, emails, and phones.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Two years’ demonstrated experience in financial aid, student billing, Bursar’s Office, or similar field
• Knowledge of Federal and State Financial Aid regulations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Excellent time management skills, ability to complete multiple complex projects and tasks
• Ability to work both independently and as a team
• Working proficiency with Microsoft office applications

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree

Two years of Financial aid, student billing, Bursar’s Office, or similar experience required

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree
