About Us

Wolfjaw Studios is looking to expand our studio in big ways and we need your help! We are an engineering-focused studio based in Troy, NY founded by a passionate team of developers with decades of experience. We are ideally looking for a candidate who can be on-site in our studio in downtown Troy, NY. Remote work is a possibility for the very experience candidate.

Our teams have been trusted to build the systems that power some of the most popular modern multiplayer games. In turn, this has enabled publishers to better engage their player base, help drive esports to the forefront of media, and further improve core game services to provide a better player experience. We work closely with studios and publishers to establish trusting relationships in order for us to deliver products and services that are unique to each of their needs.

Operations Managers interested in joining our growing team will find success if they have a background in or are interested in learning the following:

  • Managing payroll, health benefits, 401(k), state, and federal payroll tax compliance, and business insurances with the Director of Operations.
  • Ensure Woljaw is compliant with all NYS labor laws, and compliant with mandatory training needed to be given to employees.
  • Develop HR programs, Diversity training etc. Act as HR manager for the studio collecting complaints, issues and answering people’s questions on all HR matters. In partnership with Director of Operations and CEO.
  • Being exposed to a variety of Production Tools (Jira, Github, Clickup, Trello, etc.)
  • Assisting and coordinating the onboarding of new employees.
  • Ensure we always have needed IT supplies in office for number of local employees and for new remote employees, assisting with the basic setup and assignment of IT resources to employees.
  • Keeping pulse on team health to ensure everyone is satisfied
  • Escalate any concerns or issues that arise to leadership in a timely manner
  • Ability to work with various team dynamics and help foster a positive team culture

As a Studio Operations Manager, you will work on a multi-disciplinary teams with business managers, engineers, engineering managers, designers, and product managers to create and support the many needs of a growing video game software development sutdio. You will report to the Director of Operations and CEO.

Relevant Experience

  • Effective communicator and collaborator
  • Ability to clarify any confusion that may occur during the production cycle
  • Lead and participate in effective team and department meetings
  • Experience in managing multiple business, HR, and Operations related projects for a growing business
  • A history of delivering on projects/goals in a timely manner and to quality standards
  • Experience working with teams and employees in various US states and
  • Direct experience with Human Resource initiatives such as payroll, benefits, education and training.

Pluses:

  • SHRM or HR certifications
  • A degree in business administration or Human Resource Management
  • A passion for playing and making games
  • Experience in the entertainment, tech or video game industry
