Responsibilities

In support of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division, the Subject Matter Expert III will:

  • Provide technical management of projects including the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN), Navy training baseline, and Digital Radio Management System (DRMS).
  • Develop and incorporate opposition countermeasures and representations related to existing and proposed advanced weapons systems, such as MQ-8B Fire Scout and LCS. Conduct research of current and near-future mid-range systems, technologies, capabilities, and threat environments and verify that the Confluence data repository (i.e., the legacy database used by the NCTE to track status and as a repository for deliverables) remains current and accurate.
  • Develop, enhance, integrate, and ensure interoperability of new processes and capabilities into the NCTE, which provides the foundation for Fleet Synthetic Training-Aviation (FST-A) events and delivers an integrated, non-platform-specific capability that responds to real-world challenges.
  • Research inclusion of models for defeating asymmetric and emerging threats via persistent and stealthy distributed, large area presence capabilities; stimulation of suspect entities; and disruption and deception of potential hostiles.
  • Conduct research to represent and make recommendations to integrate unmanned and autonomous systems in the NCTE, modeled after new technologies with the ability to sense, comprehend, predict, communicate, plan, make decisions, and take appropriate actions to achieve their goals.
  • Research, upgrade, test, evaluate, build, and retrofit C4I training systems to meet C4I training system requirements on the NCTE.
  • Integrate U.S. military, agency, joint, and coalition LVC training systems and C4ISR systems associated with BMD weapons.
  • Plan, track and report all systems engineering activities to include requirements refinement, emerging technology development, and sustainment activities for LVC networking.

Education, Work Experience, and Skills Requirements

  • Provide advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, training, and implementation advice.
  • Design and prepare technical reports, studies, and related documentation, make charts and graphs to record results, prepare and deliver presentations, training, and briefings.
  • 12+ years of experience with Navy training systems and capabilities.
  • Master's degree is desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project is desired,
  • SECRET clearance verifiable in DISS.
