SECTION I: SCOPE
Seeking ESL part-time instructor candidates for Summer, 2023 at the Manhattan College campus and/or the College of Mount Saint Vincent campus in Riverdale, Bronx. Candidates should be located within commuting distance of Manhattan College / College of Mount Saint Vincent.
Dates: June 20th - August 9th, 2023
Some hires will start teaching on June 20th, others will start teaching on June 27th.
Instructors will teach ESL classes for teenagers from 8:45AM - 12:45PM, Monday-Friday, during their sessions.
Under the general direction of the Director of English Language Support and ESL Summer Coordinators, Instructors will provide ESL classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds for the purpose of facilitating the attainment of student learning objectives.
Instructors must be available for one online training session (on May 17th or May 24th) and one in-person training session (on June 20th, 2023) prior to their first day of teaching. These are required. Any further dates and times of training sessions to be determined and will be disseminated to all successful candidates.
Remuneration: $23.00 - $25.00/hour, depending on qualifications and experience

SECTION II:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide academic instruction to students through communicative English language courses; assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills among students through appropriate assignments and activities in one-on-one, classroom, and other instructional settings;
- Plan and organize instruction utilizing the proprietary online instructional materials and curricula;
- Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment and attendance;
- Upon hire, take part in Program training.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

SECTION III:
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications:
- Completed degree.
- One year teaching experience, preferably ESL or related.
- Ability to upload the VIA app to computer or tablet.
- Ability to use PowerPoint and Google Drive.
Physical Requirements:
- As related to teaching.
- As required to move from one part of campus to another.
Special Requirements: Experience with online instructional materials (predominantly via PowerPoint and Google Drive) desired.
Interviews for this position will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
