The Warehouse Supervisor is a key role in the Supply Chain group. The position supports SEC with Service materials, timelines, quality, and tracking while saving unnecessary company funds from going out the door. There is travel involved as you will be expected to conduct offsite business with other areas. One is expected to maintain all inventory levels with accuracy per the company requirements and preferably well above the industry standards. You will be expected to be a team leader to your direct reports as well as others who you make work with from time to time crossing company lines. SEC has a high code of conduct and our goal in the Supply Chain group is to go above and beyond what is expected. Must be able to work safely, under pressure, against deadlines, while delegating supervision to your teammates. This position is very challenging at times, but ultimately is very rewarding, giving one a since of accomplishments and pride. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and manages all daily warehouse operations, facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Responsible for developing and improving requisition and procurement business processes
  • Identifies potential sourcing issues/disruptions and determine appropriate corrective actions
  • Responsible for on-time delivery and highly competitive pricing of materials
  • Identify, qualify and develop new suppliers as required to meet business demand
  • Oversee supplier reviews, coordination, inspection, tracking and expediting
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items accordingly.
  • Compares identifying information, and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Accountable for managing inventory of equipment and parts to ensure the sales and service teams can execute efficiently with built in advantage to the competition
  • Provide up to date material order status information to Service Team
  • Do research for sales quotes and sales order entry
  • Processes requisitions, work orders and shipping orders and issues material to end users utilizing the systems as defined by the company.
  • Supervises and provides leadership to Inventory Coordinators and Warehouse Coordinators
  • Adheres to and enforces company policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Oversees, conducts and reconciles inventory cycle counts, including verification of material certifications on file as required
  • Ensures warehouse transactions are being recorded accurately and reported and processed in a timely manner
  • Assists with evaluating requests to add new items to inventory, including adjustments to minimum/maximum levels and reclassification of inventory as required
  • Works to purchase inventory replenishments and utilize surplus inventory
  • Works to facilitate the sale and/or disposal of obsolete/scrap inventory and surplus materials
  • On call 24/7 for emergencies
  • Performs other functions/duties as required
Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills& Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge of gas pipeline related materials
  • Knowledge of Major equipment Distributors
  • Ability to use SAP proficiently to perform transactions
  • Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree or additional college level courses
  • Previous inventory, warehousing or procurement experience

Working Conditions:

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
