POSITION SUMMARY: This position will be split between the Corps and the Thrift store.
The Support Staff’s function is to assist the Corps Officers in the ongoing operation and ministry of the Corps as well as assist the Food Service manager with hot meal distribution and emergency food distribution. Assist the thrift store with receiving donations on Saturday’s.
The Support Staff will have a deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army which will be evident in his or her professional life and the manner in which he or she represents The Salvation Army Lihue Corps in the community.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to work well with the public.
- Must be motivated, a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have a sense of cleanliness, tidiness and neatness.
- Have an understanding of The Salvation Army standards, philosophy and policy and willingness to adhere to them.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Food Service
- Assist Food Service Manager with food prep when needed.
- Assist Food Service Manager with clean up.
- Assist distribution to the public three days a week.
- Assist with weekly foodbank pick-up
- Assist volunteers bagging emergency food bags.
- Other duties as assigned by the Corps Officer
THRIFT STORE:
- Assist with customer service donation drop off.
- Assist with production, processing, sorting and staging in the store.
- Other duties as assigned by the Corps Officer
CORPS PROPERTY:
- Maintain outside property yard and lite maintenance.
- Maintain property vehicles, cleaning inside and outside.
- Other duties as assigned by the Corps Officer
