Surgery Scheduler - Spine Center Job at Keck Medical Center of USC
The Surgery Scheduler for the Spine Center provides administrative, surgery scheduling, and patient care coordination for busy Neuro-Spine surgeon in an ambulatory setting. Verifies patient insurance and obtains authorizations for scheduled surgeries. Maintains accurate surgery schedule on department calendar as well as each individual surgeon’s calendar. Coordinates patient preoperative testing, and collects all pertinent reports for review by licensed personnel to proceed with surgery. Ensures necessary imaging is available and on location for surgeon at time of surgery. Individual will also assist with office and clerical duties, including physician calendar management, meeting scheduling & coordination,and correspondence management (mail, fax, email) on behalf of the physician, etc. This person will also assist the multidisciplinary team in coordinating patient referrals & appointments from external referral sources. Additional duties as assigned.
Individual must be highly organized and self-motivated. Healthcare experience required, surgery scheduling experience STRONGLY PREFERRED. Must have base knowledge of insurance plans and authorization processes.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
