Provide guidance to the Chair of Allied Health and Dean of Health Sciences, Career and Technical trades in the development of the Surgical Technology Program.

This is a part-time temporary assignment and is limited to 25 hours per week.


Essential Functions

Responsibilities Include but not limited to:


  • Curriculum and content development
  • Analyzing current workforce competencies
  • Identifying best practices and tools in surgical technology education
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders in designing program policies and procedures.
  • Assist in locating, reviewing, and approving clinical education centers
  • Assist in classroom and laboratory coordination
  • Assists in creating program goals and objectives, developing long-range plans

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency; and
  • Possess an Associate Degree or higher and a Certified Surgical Technologist credential and
  • Have a minimum total of three years (3) of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.
  • Must maintain certification in surgical technology throughout employment.

A copy of Jackson College's Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report is available on the JC Campus Safety & Security website. The security report contains crime statistics for the previous three years for all of our campus locations and the annual fire safety report, which contains statistics for any reported fires in campus housing units and fire safety systems in these buildings. Additionally, the report contains policies, available resources and information concerning personal safety, fire safety and reporting procedures for both crimes and fires.
