Basic Function:

Under minimal or no supervision, perform systems engineering tasks on fast-paced programs through the technical systems engineering processes. Perform as an engineering lead on assignments that involve technical performance modelling, simulation and controls engineering combined and participation in managing project systems engineering processes and procedures. Perform as a technical lead on projects, periodic testing campaigns and design reviews under the direction and supervision of Senior project personnel. Work within a team to promptly complete tasks. Communicate effectively to accomplish assignments and support others in accomplishing their assignments.

Responsibilities:

1. Planning and managing Model Based Engineering disciplines for multiple projects

2. Dynamic mathematical modeling and simulation of propulsion systems

3. Solid rocket motor system sizing and performance calculations

4. Participate in control system design, analyses and documentation.

5. Prototyping of control system design algorithms, test software development and testing support

6. Documentation of project requirements, and requirements verification methods

7. Support project management in risk assessment and mitigation planning

8. Other related job duties, as assigned

Experience:

Required:

· Four (4) years to seven (7) of systems engineering experience

· Five (5) years of solid rocket motor design and testing

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s degree is required in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited college/university. May consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Preferred: Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited college/university. May consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Skills:

· Working knowledge of Matlab, Matlab Simulink programming; LabVIEW or similar preferred

· Working knowledge of CAD software, SolidWorks preferred

· Experienced with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project

· Proven ability to successfully operate in a highly collaborative team environment

· Possess excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication

· Willingness to seek-out and assume increasing responsibilities as work load changes

Other:

· Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
