How you’ll contribute
The Tableau Administrator is responsible for the management and day-to-day running of our Tableau platform, working with our cross functional teams to ensure smooth operation of our reporting environment.
Manage Tableau system administration (including site creation, server maintenance/upgrades/installations/migrations/troubleshooting)- Configure and maintain Tableau Server Software Layer
- Monitor server activity/usage statistics to identify possible performance issues/enhancements
- Develop workbooks and dashboards to track and monitor server utilization
- Conduct performance tuning (clustering, load balancing)
- Create/Manage Tableau Users, Groups, Permissions, Licenses, Projects and Schedules
- Assist in the identification and migration of data sources to Tableau server
- Work with Tableau Support to resolve issues or hotfixes
- Analyze Tableau logs to mitigate issues, perform root cause analysis and implement solutions
- Develop and document standards/best practices for development and administration of the Tableau platform
- All other duties as required
For this role you will need
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Information Systems, or related degree with relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience in a BI role, including experience in administering and managing a Tableau server environment
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Tableau software (Desktop Pro, Server, Interactor), with a strong understanding of Tableau architecture and administration
- Experience in Tableau scripting (TABCMD and TABADMIN)
- Ability to architect a stable Tableau solution guaranteed for high operational availability
- Experience working with Relational Databases (SQL Server), Azure
- Expertise in Tableau platform sizing, troubleshooting, tuning & disaster recovery
- Good knowledge of Tableau Metadata tables
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience in driving out requirements and building documentation process
- Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision
