Summary: In collaboration with cross company teams, the Talent Acquisition Manager leads the design and implementation of Johnstone Supply-The Ware Group's talent acquisition strategy and manages the processes, administration, compliance, and communication for full cycle recruiting to maintain a talent pipeline that meets the company's current operational needs and future growth goals. Represents the Ware Group brand externally to passive and active candidates and supports company culture internally throughout the organization. Manages company's recruitment efforts including directly sourcing, screening, and assessing talent for purposes of aligning viable candidates' fit with the Ware Group's human resources needs.

This role is ideal for a brand ambassador passionate about sourcing and building relationships with candidates while partnering with hiring managers across our wholesale distribution company to understand the talent needs of the business and create effective search strategies.

Essential Job Function:

  • As part of the Human Resources team, manages the company's talent acquisition efforts including supervision, training, and support of assigned talent acquisition personnel as well as conducting direct recruitments. Makes strategic suggestions for efficiencies and improvement in line with company business plans.
  • Supports organizational staffing needs through passive and active recruiting tactics and expands talent search to include broader and more diverse candidate pools. Actively recruits - directly and through supervision and support of assigned team members - for talent capacity that meets current needs and addresses future business needs.
  • Manages the process of internal and external applicant flow, inclusive of coordination and communication across organization and with candidates from initial contact through hire.
  • Professionally represents the Ware Group's values and culture through all marketing, communication, and interaction with potential candidates. Markets the employer brand both internally and externally and supports the branches in local recruiting efforts.
  • Ensures job descriptions and postings adequately represent and appropriately market the talent needs for the company. Solicits input from existing employees as to the effectiveness of proposed changes to postings and descriptions.
  • Assists with ongoing development and recruitment of internship programs and local educational institution relationship building that provide mutual benefit to the school, students, and company.
  • Utilizes consistent interviewing techniques in screening and interviewing candidates. Assists and trains hiring managers with behavioral questioning and other related best practice techniques. Provides assistance, coordination with interviewing and ensures compliance and completion of all related process and requirements. Participates in the final recommendation for hiring.
  • Evaluates and makes suggestions for assessments and other related tools. Establishes efficient and compliant background and other screening processes and follows through with documentation processes.
  • Ensures pre-employment process is accurately completed and ensures candidate and hiring manager is prepared for start date.
  • In collaboration with hiring manager and department Director, discusses compensation for candidate and provides written offer letters for hiring manager to present.
  • Maintains currency with market conditions including total compensation offerings and makes recommendations related to pay and benefits.
  • Assists managers and HR team with establishing and following through on comprehensive onboarding processes.
  • Maintains applicant tracking and other related systems and leverages system to organize and streamline the recruiting process. Tracks and reports on talent acquisition metrics.
  • Supports retention efforts including employee follow up, participation in career pathing programs, employee referral programs and collecting employee feedback as assigned.

Experience

Preferred
  • Minimum 8 years experience recruiting, staffing, or related HR position; 3 years in a supervisory capacity; High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelors' degree preferred; Passion for sourcing & connecting candidates with ability to build talent pipelines; Proven experience in marketing an employer brand; Excellent interpersonal & communication skills; Ability to communicate proficiently in English in written & verbal forms; Experience with applicant tracking systems.
